Well, he's too damn serious. He's said that he's afraid of the power imbalance and that if he does that and doesn't marry her that makes him the worst man on earth. So he'll marry her after one year and then... whoopee!? First chapter was in middle of April, next chapter is October, so it's been six months story time.

Which is pretty weird since he seems pretty set on marrying her anyway, so I wonder what's keeping him probably like you said he's too serious but that's kind of breath of fresh air when so many other mangas where the MC gets cold feet every time something romantic happens.

Or when the author pulls something out of thin air like Goro having a poor relationship with his parents, since we really know nothing about Goro now that I think about it I've seen some chapters of the next volume but nothing that goes into Goro's past.

I've defended Goro in the past from accusations that he is a monk, but he couldn't even pull his hot fox fiance into his lap for a little skinship? It would have worked with the premise of the chapter and everything.
I also found the Q and A with the author interesting. Onion tolerance is interesting, but finding out Chiaki became a youkai on her own power was great.
