I find it kinda funny how casual the tribe is about Karina and Reshutoka's engagement, specially when they walked in on them in Chapter 2 I think?

Also, I understand that Reshutoka is strong, but I doubt they are strong enough to take on an entire empire? Even if they just go after the prince, that's basically a declaration of war.

Let me get this straight: Karina, in earlier years, was told to take her sister Aurora's place as the prince's fiancée. Due to Aurora's poor health. And indeed, Karina took Aurora's place. Yet, at the beginning of the story, Aurora, seemingly in good health, took Karina's place. Which was meant to be Aurora's place from the get go. Now Karina wants to take her place back that Aurora took.

Is anyone else confused?
And let's not even start with the wolf tribe trying to translate human books into their own language. WITHOUT EVEN A WRITTEN LANGUAGE OF THEIR OWN.
It's favoritism but middle age era. The elder daughter is always ask to be more mature or grow more quickly so parents don't have to take care of her and can focus their attention in the younger. In the end the elder sister either grow to be a doormat thinking that the fact that she is normal is already too much of a blessing. Or she ends up resenting her family for always assuming that she would be ok always being disregard for the sake of the younger sibling. In this case, she will discover halfway through her evil plan that the best revenge is obviously having the time of your life and never think about them again.

Wait, wolf girl now accepts "no"? What happened to the "assertive" one in the first chapter? Not that it's a bad thing but a bait and switch?

Of course the issue still ongoing is the assassination attempts aren't really going to stop and are likely to escalate (remember also their "love" of painting FMC as a "unredeemable Villainess always causing trouble".........that ends up being THEM as the troublemakers instead but she makes a GREAT Scapegoat to NARC "never my faulters" so it wouldn't be a shocker)

Best revenge is rising up the Beast People Civilization and Culture! They have the Super strength, just not the culture! So FMC reminds me of a more hot tempered version of the FMC "Villainess" of a Manhua I read where the Villainess gets exiled to a Cold Tundra of a location, almost freezing to death and it was making a deal with a Devil, the ML that she turned what should have been an "exile to the middle of nowhere which was really they were hoping to hear how her frozen corpse was found and looked" to "Oh no, she actually DID THE IMPOSSIBLE and turned it into a profitable land even more so to match Our Territories," the "Heroine" and her ex started becoming annoyances as she was PROSPERING being petty as expected of a vicious ex and the partner who "stole them!"

In this case, I'm sure the plan was to kill FMC and make it looks "Tragic" that she never got the chance to "change her ways" mostly for her sister and family to be "pity" so it's their NARCISSISM kicking in! For the Prince it's likely the petty "she hurt the woman I love, I want her to suffer even though I exiled her because even in a crappy cold location, I just can't feel right knowing she's BREATHING" (Like in "Villager A wants to save the villainess" where DESPITE the story trying to paint the "Crown Prince" as "only becoming EVIL because of the corruptive influence of the Heroine who is a Reincarnate "I'm the HEROINE don't ya know!" But then you remember the "OG STORY" described how EVEN when the Villainess was EXILED peacefully, HE hired thugs who waylaid, gang-raped her and then sold her to the "Evil Empire" who gang-raped her more, then brainwashed her into a weapon where she got killed by the "heroes AKA the OG Heroine and the Crown Prince" and made out to be SUPER Evil! Thing is his FATHER the King who lets him do what he wants was NOT corrupted by the Reincarnated Heroine, so essentially he AND the Crown Prince were ALWAYS scumbags, she just pushed them to go BEYOND their usual evil, well her PARTY anyway, the King can do shit ALL by himself LOL! But yeah makes me laugh when the writers forget that their "Virtuous" Heroes shouldn't be doing things like "having Villainess gang-raped, and ETC, but still try to play the "Hero" when their actions and behavior say "otherwise!" To try and CLAIM it as "Karma" is delusional, and convincing yourself your "the good guy" because "history written by victor)
Wait, wolf girl now accepts "no"? What happened to the "assertive" one in the first chapter? Not that it's a bad thing but a bait and switch?
She's likely changing tactics cause she REALLY wants FMC to like her, so let her feel like she HAS the right of a choice (by "entertaining" FMC refusals!

I’d like to think that while Karina was inside the cabin sleeping after getting struck by that arrow in Ch.1, Reshutoka just went around the village like “GUYS YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT I FOUND!!! A PRETTY HUMAN GIRL!! THAT’S MY BRIDE NOW” and they just accepted it because someone in her position must have a good sense of judgement to pick a bride so, “good for her, she picked up a random human to chew marry”. The wolves could have even taken a peek inside the cabin and went “ :meguupog: :meguupog: :meguupog: :meguupog: She’s pretty fr”

Also, if not strong enough to take down the Empire, I believe making the region stronger by forming stronger alliances with the human tribes in the isolated Northern Lands could create a separatist movement that in a way could weaken them as they loose part of their territory. Now, how impactful that loss would be is another thing — one would assume lands that are just snowy and dangerous and they basically use like Siberia don’t pose that much of an economic advantage for the Kingdom of Russia Cloria. Could be more of a power thing. Maybe location wise keeping that territory is advantageous, could even have a frontier with other Kingdoms*.

*Such Kingdoms, if willing to weaken the strongest Empire, could form alliances with the Northern people lead by Karina and Reshutoka. I mean, you have BEASTS that have more knowledge on how to survive the conditions of the Northern lands than, say, the Cloria Army. They could easily ambush thousands of men and do a Mulan (1998) and reduce their army into just a few to be combated by ally armies + mercenaries from the North + anyone from the human settlements and wolf tribe willing to join.

Art of War typa shit. I’ve read it in my teens, I think there’s a whole ass chapter about using the land to your advantage.

And as to why it could be advantageous to the wolf tribe, I think that just by taking back the territory that is theirs and the fact that ages ago they were FORCED to isolate themselves would be a good enough excuse. With a lowkey prominent figure on their side (future Queen’s older sister) it could be even easier to get allies + we know that Karina formed good relations with other nobles so all it takes is telling the girlies that beastkin seggs is nice and they’ll join the army.

Thank you so much for your speedy quick turn around! I'm entirely convinced that the mangaka for this story came up with it seeing how other writers handled beast folk and went, "You all understand nothing. Let me show you the true appeal of a wolf lady!" and proceeded to wolf all over them.

Karina starting to come up with the idea that she does need a partner that can pamper her and she can rely on.

I bet there's a yuri romance novel among those books. Placin' my bets.
It is genius. They feel somewhat lap-like which even fits with their wolf theme (mythology wise)

I would call it bullshit if MC is the only human staying in the wolf tribe, probably few human whether they are travelling merchant or villager will be staying there and teach them their language.

She’s absurdly wary of Reshutoka, so much so that I can’t help but question her intelligence.
“To be honest, I can't trust her. no matter how friendly she seems, her true nature is that of a man-eating beast. Until I can take my revenge, I need to be cautious not to have my throat slit while I'm asleep.”
If Reshutoka really wanted her dead, she wouldn’t have saved her in the first place. And even after that, she had plenty of chances to kill her — but she didn’t. In fact, she saved her again. A little caution is fair, but this level of paranoia is just ridiculous.

Edit: Seems like some people are missing my point, so let me clarify — I’m not saying Karina shouldn’t be cautious around Reshutoka. What I am saying is that her prejudice — treating Reshutoka like some “man-eating beast who might slit her throat in her sleep” — is ridiculous, especially when Reshutoka has already saved her twice.

Just as a note, Lappland is usually considered derogatory by the Sami (kinda like Eskimo for the Inuit). But yeah they seem quite Sami-ish. The culture clash between the more european traditional nobility set up and the more nomadic lifestyle of the Wolf Tribe will likely continue to be a major source of conflict for Karina but I'm curious if it'll be a source of conflict for Reshutoka when she visit's Karina's abode.

Speaking of other conflicts I'm enjoying the ones we have set up so far: Karina's animosity for her former home, the culture clash, her trust issues with Reshutoka, the inevitable romance issues (whether coming to terms with the relationship or even just who tops), and the conflict within herself with all this. Each one could give us a bit of mileage in the story so I really want this one to succeed. Outside the constant Reshutoka wolf aura farming it's got a lot of potential to it.

Post script:

Karina has major trust issues and does not believe anyone save maybe her attendant is not out to get her. This is a woman, who coming off hot off an assassination, woke up in bed with another woman who then bit her. Twice. A tribe of what she believes are man-eating savage beasts who eat raw food with their bare hands. She's just waiting for the pin to drop and for them to go after her for their next meal. And that they keep putting it off only makes her more anxious.

You expect someone who knew their own parents didn't care about them to trust someone they just met.

It doesn't look like she ever had friends or anyone on her side in life. She even pointed out how her one maid must have pulled the short straw. It seems reasonable she wouldn't trust a stranger who is also an entirely different species very easily. She's very wary of people's motives for good reason so Reshutoka will have to thaw her out more.

I just thought about parasites
Not just parasites, the beast folk's gut and gut microbiomes are adapted to eating raw meat so harmful pathogenic bacteria are neutralized. Karina is not so lucky. I doubt the manga is going to give us a tularemia arc from Karina eating raw rabbit but then again, maybe it will?

I'll admit my first thought at seeing the "sexy" panel of the wolfgirl eating raw meat was "oh no, she's full of worms isn't she?"

To be fair, she bit her hard enough to draw blood twice and was aggressive with her in bed to say the least, it seems like major inter-species miscommunication and also trust issues from Karina's side. It's gonna be so fun watching Karina let her walls down and begin to trust.
