It was ok at first, you have to read 5ish chapters in to get to the good stuff. It was a normal, boring hero isekai with the priest being dumped on, until the hero explained the reason why he had kicked the priest out. It had gotten good since then, as I have enjoyed reading the manga since.

Really great stuff here. Hero seems stupid to start, but later revelations change this. This manga deserves a higher rating than 6.7 . The intrigue and misunderstandings that drive the plot are organic and move in interesting directions. This is not your average "I'm super strong, but I was betrayed by my friends".

I found quite a few bits of this to be genuinely interesting but the way it comes together, I can't help but feel like something important is missing. The party itself seems to be progressing but perhaps I am just buying into the mantra that keeps being repeated "they are nowhere near ready we need to improve them much more, and now". I actually feel myself getting stressed over their need to be improving much more than what they are.

The crossdressing thing I guess is an open secret to the audience at this point. As a plot detail I guess it was interesting enough? That the MC keeps misunderstanding it for the usual 'harem hero' tropes was funny enough at first but when you combine this feature with the other point of needing to be much, much better it's just frustrating to keep up this facade and then even seek out other men for help rather than just acknowledge their decision to send MC away was incorrect and simply work with him rather than go through this whole 'working from the shadows unseen' business. It's a different prospect from working unseen from within the party, which is what I expected and am disappointed was not maintained.

There's a lot to look forward to here, but somehow I just end up overall feeling frustrated at what is clearly being hidden from the MC and us, the audience. This story is "let's make everything more difficult than it needs to be: the manga". Pretty much EVERYONE does something to hide important info or misunderstand for the sole purpose of complicating the situation.

After the latest chapters I kinda figured out why this manga feels iffy to me now. The MC is ass. Like, fucking ass. A boomer who is always grumpy and unreasonable. Yes, I get that the situation handed to him is horrible for real, it is not ideal at all, but I personally think a reasonable and calm guy or a funny goober like Kazuma would have made better use of this entire situation. Like holy shit, even the kinda-evil murderous maniac priest is more reasonable than him. At least that guy only makes you do an impossible mission. The MC is just overly calculating, he forces you to move precisely at every moment, and then freaks out whenever you make a mistake, it is getting annoying af ngl.

Yeah and the misunderstandings too, getting to annoying level. Usually those might be funny for setting up a funny moment, but with our boomer MC we ain't getting shit of that.

What doomed this manga is the truth about the hero that took way too long to be revealed before it is revealed. The autor should have at least give us readers some hints about the hero's true nature, it could have probably mitigated the damage but no, we're left in the dark thinking that the hero is just a annoying prik.
