Well, it's a shame, but I cannot say I am surprised with how much the relationship and even the plot kept dragging on, going in circles, and the both of them being stupid and stupider. People are bound to get sick and lost interest after a whole year of no progression in practically all fronts, and with this axe news, it even makes me think that the only reason things started to go anywhere was because of the impending axe.
"People are bound to get sick and lost interest after a whole year of no progression" some romcoms go on like that for literally years and still live, wdym?

Cancelled due to poor sales.
I'm just going to remind people that this is not on the author or publisher, it's on the (purchasing) public. Not enough of them? Series gets canceled.

And I'm also going to remind: BL? plenty; Shoujou? plenty; Villainess? Plenty. So it's not like only the male centered harems succeed. (BTW also plenty: dominating female characters, subservient males, girls attracted to girls, etc.)

Plus side of getting canceled (with enough forewarning)
  • End of endless miscommunication. We don't have to yell at mangaka for dragging it out endlessly.
  • Enough time to settle it on a positive note. Love is (essentially) declared. Serina and Almelia will be together.

"Japan is an incredibly LGBT supportive country"

Seeing how yuri manga are one of the most commonly cancelled manga series, the japanese market customer base tells me that is NOT fucking true.:cautious:

Eat up your isekai slave girl slop you incel pieces of shit.
Who are you to say something so brave and yet so true

Man, the pacing of this chapter was really worrying me, but knowing this is already at the end sucks hard. What is even the point in reading peak when it gets cut short so cruelly every time.

Ah well, thanks for the translations anyhow.

quality of GL is like the worst indicator of queer friendliness

only girl on girl action from Sweden I’ve seen is Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and meanwhile the best GL now comes from China

edit: forgot I watched Thelma, pretty good shit, point still stands

Tf you mean it is already over???
sigh Such wasted potential here. Like seriously, we didn't even get any lore about the reincarnation stuff and barely a non subtle display of love affection...

I feel like after the first volume this series leaned too heavily into drama, to the point where there wasn't any breathing room left. It's unfortunate, but I can see why it's ending

lol, the misunderstanding set up here is that Almelia thinks Serina is competing to win the prince's hand in marriage

NOOO, its ending even before it began. I wanted to see more of Almelia's yandere vibe.

Your average romcom have a much bigger much wider audience. And you just said so. Some. Plenty get the axe too.
Contrary to popular belief, Yuri, despite what lots would like you to think, is still a relatively niche thing. It's miles ahead from where it was years ago, but still.
The only other hook this series may have had, the isekai and meta knowledge, the political intrigue, and even the magic system, all ended up woefully underexplored and also suffering from all the same spinning on its wheel the relationship did. Like, just look at how many people here lamented how the hand thing went nowhere and if anything just made the issue of the prince stupids, an already bad situation, get even worse.

Pretty much this. A interesting story gets cancelled while dozens and dozens of generic power fantasy isekais keep going...

Next will be the last? Damn, I guess Japanese people only like dense carefree characters starring romcoms when it's not yuri. I wanted author to explore more of the world and characters but instead they got stuck in the mansion and school, the whole story felt too trapped and running the same joke about the oblivious gyaru. At least we're getting an ending
