First of all, go for it. You'll be able to read lots of great things that aren't translated. However, it's a not easy road you're about to go down, but it's worth it.

Anyway, this particular one is kinda frustrating in a sense that, while it's released every 2 weeks, only half the chapter is released. For instance, this is chapter 40, but 40.1 was released on 26 July 2025 and 40.2 was released 9 Aug 2025. The next chapter, 41, the first part was released 8 Aug. and 41.2 was released today, but 41.2 is behind a paywall until 27 Sep. This scanlator waits for both parts to be released and then puts it together into one whole volume (which I actually like, but YMMV on that). All that to say, the TL is p. much caught up with the raws (as the second part of the chapter can't be accessed (w/o paying for it) until 2 more weeks)...

Saki needs a haircut, she's back to her middle school closed-off look now~ Hopefully we get another salon chapter soon, maybe bring her not-yet-girlfriend to meet her queer-mentor-hairdresser. "This is the girl who wants to plan her future around me... the good friend I mentioned."

Also this chapter is the volume 10 cover! Congrats on the milestone.

On the other hand, I think that Saki returning to that look after having changed might be a good thing. She's not closed off in this chapter -- if anything, she's being pretty authoritative and decisive. It's okay for her to be this Saki now that she's gotten comfortable stepping into other roles.
The "I cut my hair to demonstrate character growth" scenes are iconic in fiction, but if it gets to a place where she can't feel comfortable going back to her old hair style without feeling like she's regressed, then she's just become trapped in a different way.

Kanon is really close now, I can feel it, and the photoshoot session will be the final trigger. Anyway, love the chapter, love this manga, love both Saki and Kanon. I will make sure as hell I will be there when this end and finally mark this manga as my NO.1 Yuri manga. See if it can dethrone Bloom into You for me.

Ahhh it's so satisfying having the storyline getting back to these two directly. I really appreciate any manga that veers from the lovers' individual identities and futures being completely entwined and meshed all together in the name of "love".

I'm also appreciating more some of the side stories that have occurred to get us to this point. I feel that's a pretty true reflection of how things can happen, small tiny steps and realizations along the way that lead to a self-realization moment that's also self-actualizing. Saki and Kanon doing this little dance while also staying honest with themselves about what they want bodes well for a successful and non-co-dependent relationship. Which again ties back in to an arc they have both already traversed to get to this point. Well-done author!!

Actually, the part that was released today wasn't the end of the chapter, so there'll be another 2-3 weeks until the final part is out. Kuzushiro-sensei used to go by this schedule but after finishing another manga of theirs, increased this manga's release schedule. But since there was a 3 week gap between 41.1 and 41.2, I'm not too sure. Regardless, we'll try to get it out soon after everything's released!

Kanon is just so close now to coming to terms with her own feelings for Saki, and in previous chapters I had the theory that the photoshoot will make her understand Saki's feelings by seeing from a different perspective how Saki looks at her.

...But now, my theory is the exact opposite. When Kanon sees how SHE looks at Saki from a different perspective, that's when it will all click for her.

Whatever the case, I do have the feeling that that "different perspective" that the photoshoot allows is what will finally put everything into motion.

I appreciate translators for translating manga like this for no financial gain, so it's hard to criticize them. But my one problem with this translation at the moment is... I wish the translators had some sort of social media. Chapter 41 has been fully completed, from my understanding, for about a month now. Chapter 42 might be done, too. Though I can't tell since, sometimes the chapters are two parts and sometimes they are three. Chapter 42 currently has two parts that have been uploaded. But, despite the original being completed for a while now, I have no ETA for when this will be translated...

Just wish they had some social media that I could check in on and see "okay, they're still working on it" or "oh, they have something going on and are too busy at the moment".

Wow. Just... wow. This is NEXT level storytelling. I feel that I'm truly seeing what a master of this art form can do. This made me FEEL things - excitement, angst, anxiousness, humbled, hopeful - and so much more.

The portrayal of the emotional turmoil of them both was breathtaking. I spent a lot of time just LOOKING at this chapter. I'm not an artist, though I appreciate good art. When I'm reading a manga, I general fly through it for the story, not really stopping to take in the drawings. This chapter held most of the story in the illustrations. Absolutely beautiful.
