I mean, just look at the community responses on chapter 85 that jerkington did, I would have a crashout out too...

Usually there would be a huge pushbacks from readers against sniper but this time the majority did not care, so maybe they just felt like it's not worth

Is it really a “quicker alternative” though? It’s a total disrespect of Hiro’s art, and I don’t think it’s a good thing to defend such a bad translation. It took me a little less than one day to do a proper translation and typesetting with no prior experience, so I don’t believe he put any time or effort into his translation, in fact I doubt he even knows basic Japanese.

Isn't scanlator drama just the best? Everyone acts like children all the time. But since it's done as a free service, that puts everyone above criticism.

I just don't get why people can't communicate and sort this stuff out so it doesn't cause tantrums, but tantrums are how it goes nearly all the time.

I appreciate 2deep and all the effort they've put in; if they're going to stop because of what someone else is doing, I guess that's their call and everyone else suffers.

Thank you for coming in and fixing this chapters mess. I honestly want the same and for the previous group to come back since shitty TL's, sloppy redraws and spiteful rhetoric never truly sat right with me but if it was going to happen I'd hope that it was going to improve (weeks later. No improvement.)

All in all, I just hope there's more effective communication. If you care for accurate translations that carry Hiro's intent then the last two chapters from sir_j should worry you. I know after reading the comments, the vast majority really dont give a fuck, as long as they can read and get the gist of it + dont care to pledge much allegiance to either uploader. We can criticisise 2deep for their attitude and approach to this situation but at the end of the day, they were the group that gave us quality work that is not being replicated by the sniper.

It was awful, he just made one page up , not wrong but making shit up from Nothing!

And hate I lothe him, he wanted to translate then just could have translated many manga that don't have translation but no he just have snipe a perfectly good manga!

6 months is an exaggeration and you know it. If you actually follow the raws and 2deeps release schedule you would realise they just post one chapter behind the raw at least a week after the new chapter releases. Eversince Volume 14, Hiro has been working on an avg ~two month release schedule, thus we would also get the new chapters every two months - just behind the raw.

If the problem with sir_j's scanlation was just the image quality and the translation was good then the conversation would be different, alas both are flawed, incomparable and inferior to what we used to have. I can't ascertain as to why 2deep chose to abandon ch85/ch86 because of a snipe other than "spitefulness" and not wanting their "methodology" temporarily circumvented and if we really truly cared enough we would peep their discord instead of theorising in the comments

I, for one, hope that you will. Not so much for me (I can read JP pretty okay, so I have a pretty good idea of what's going on), but for all the people who can't read JP. You give them a good, solid, well done translation and a scan quality that respects Hiro's amazing artwork. This is my absolute favourite manga (at least right now, and has been for the four or so years I've been reading it), and I want others to see and experience just how amazing it is.
