my copium is going to be how late he joined their alliance, it feels like it happened on this floor when they started to get more people.

it's more of an oral activation, the bun was more of his thing, as we clearly saw the 3 adventurers get affected by his ability, notice their eyes when he told them to not talk back.

Seems there is another condition for it though, since Kaede's group seems to be unaffected by his offer to join him in Chapter 33.
That, or he didn't gave it a serious attempt.

The real problem isn't his mind control skill. It's another, more troublesome skill. I forget the name, but it can prevent him from incurring karma. This allows him to do bad things without triggering any alarms in the guild system. That's why he's been able to control people left and right without any action from the guild at all. According to the rules, if a seeker acquires a skill that can circumvent the system, they are required to report it to the guild (which will then lock the skill), which of course he hasn't done.

Now Gray's powers MUST have a drawback and there will always be someone who is resistant or completed immune to his powers. and i also agree with someone in here.. Gray SEEMS to be strong but is pretty weak himself. that even a minor monster could overtake him and turn him into its bitch.

I suspect that MC and his members are for the most immune to his creepy powers BUT that remains to be seen yet. but i do hope they will bury him to neck and pour honey on his head near an ant hill.

The mastermind character having a brainwashing ability is a little lame. It makes me think he isn't even that good at schemes and isn't much of a threat beyond taking advantage of the weak. Which is fine, I'm just neutral about him as an antagonist now. I'm sure some boss monster fight will be the real climax of the arc anyway.

He clearly is a douchebag who got lucky with his main skill, and with the fact that he doesn't have any morals.

I hope the punishment for shitheads like him is heavy... people with mind control abilities who use it like that should not be allowed to live.

The box-opener's brother has a completely badass demihuman form. Seriously, he looks fricking fantastic and just genuinely like a suit out of Monster Hunter. Grade-A design, right there.

Agreed.

I suspect that this may be a passive inherent skill of Arihito's job - that anyone he considers an ally is automatically buffed against mind-altering states. The weakness, though, would be that he has to be present for this buff to apply.

Dunno for sure how this is gonna go down in the end, though. It could go either way - either somehow his whole shtick gets exposed and the Guild fucking hammers him, or some situation arises where he has to enter a dungeon himself and he gets mulched.

So long as he gets dealt with in the short term and does not become some continuous menace like Kilgrave from the MCU, then I'll be fine with it.
