really really cool to have Kanon hug Saki in such a way that she can't hear Saki's rejections because it's so utterly clear Saki is only doing this whole song and dance out of internalized homophobia.

So Kanon says "nope don't wanna hear in fact I can't! Get loved idiot!"

Saki's self sabotage is a bit extreme.
the last two chapters have generally felt a bit extreme to me, or is it just me who thinks that Saki is completely exaggerating way too much?
I think saki has some insane interalized homophobia she needs to work through, from an outsider perspective she's not making sense, but to her kanon confessing was a worst case scenario because now all the feelings and desires that make her feel like an awful person are being validated

Saki is still a child in school, and a girl who's a lesbian on top of that, struggling with very intense internalized homophobia.

She perceives everyone as out to get her because of this, especially in the case of Mahiro, but her perception was challenged when she actually met her again.

I don't this it's at all "too exaggerated" for someone like Saki to feel like she's truly feel as conflicted as she does, because her worldview has almost been completely shattered.

You can obviously see the progress being made here: she realized her Mom wasn't actually being dishonest or hiding things from her, then that Mahiro just wanted to be closer with Saki, and finally that Kanon also loves her. Saki never imagined any of these would contradict what she's always believed, so this chapter is the culmination of that, where she is coming to terms with the fact that she is the only one who's been holding herself back the whole time.

So, yes, Saki has been exaggerating a lot, but it's important because it's the climax of her self-actualization not just about her feelings for Kanon but also everyone else around her that she projected onto. This has been built up for a while during this arc so I don't think it's really out of nowhere, either.

As always, thanks you very much for fast translation. It is very appreciated. :meguu:

This is truly peak writing, it feels so natural. Saki is such a good soul, she does not want to hurt Kanon and she goes all in. Revealing her most kept secret all this time, which has not been easy by any means. And her efforts have been more than rewarded as Kanon is not a simple girl that will just turn around and go away. Her love for Saki is as strong as Saki was at the start when she tried again, and again, and again, and again to approach her. Now it is Kanon's time to return that back and help Saki hear herself.

You can tell that Kuzushiro took her experience from "Living With My Brother's Wife" and outdid herself here. We got an confession but knowing Saki's tru nature that was never going to be easy. So what follows is long way for two of them to know eachother even better and fall into love even more. I can already imagine all the lovey-dovey times that will come as well as possible drama, made not only by Saki and her low self esteem but also others who will be either love rivals or simply hateful.

All in all, this last few chapters have been amazing and I cannot wait to see the future ones. This truly is for now the peak yuri manga. :meguu:

And for the love of God let anime has at least 4 seasons so that we can have this scene animated as well one day. :notlikethis:

kanon mirroring what saki did in chapter 45 but for entirely different reasons its peak... i honestly have no clue where this story will go next and im super excited

Its a really well-done parallel. When Saki hugged Kanon, she couldn't hear because her back was turned and she couldnt read Saki's lips. Contrastingly, here with Kanon hugging Saki it's that she's doesn't want to hear as is refusing to listen to anything that Saki might say to put pause on them dating, and is forcing her way through Saki's negative and self-depricating emotions (in a good way).

Thanks for translating peak!
