Honestly I'm glad Aini isn't a total bitch heroine like in other villainess, nor is she a pure-hearted shoujo heroine. She's just a normal teenage girl with shitty background.

And honestly, I like that the "antagonistic" characters here are just people whose flaws are exacerbated by the circumstances (and lack of communication lmao)

- Sauri is just coddled by his parents and kept from the truth about his sister. And to be honest, he's completely right about Bernadetta being a terrible teacher.

• Prince Autismo has no idea what "feelings" and "emotions" are, and just assumes everyone thinks the same way as him.
• Aini is essentially just a girl who got a big head after a promotion. And to be fair, it does look like the prince is leading her on.

Well, at least she's a real saintess, unlike that other manga. But, it's crazy how a lot of them are clueless or I guess, too idealistic.

I feel like they should've kept her more at the church to be teaching her scripture rather than to an actual school. Like, what is the real point of it?

I don't think she was a terrible teacher. We saw from her perspective and Aini's now that she didn't have a lot of time so was being pushed to cram all the information into Aini while also having to suppress herself for the honor of her brother. This also hurts when Aini was going into it with a "woe is me" attitude thinking that she didn't need to bother learning anything or social structure because in the academy "everyone is equal". It's the same way she didn't realize her mother's pity was always for the daughter she couldn't give a better life to and thought it was the mother complaining about herself.

I like that this humanizes Airi a lot. She's just as flawed as the rest of the cast (except maybe Seraphina, who I'd argue is least guilty of that particular general characteristic), and it even makes sense for Aini given her upbringing.
Frankly, it all depends on her reaction to "the tea incident" once Seraphina sets her straight, and whether she's receptive to learning from her mistakes and improving her lot. I'd even go so far as to hope she gets a happy ending, provided she shows she has the capacity and the drive for character growth. And nothing about this series really indicates that she'll get a bad ending, as none of the primary cast are truly villainous.

I think the only person I really feel deserves the wood-chipper treatment is her father, honestly. Raped a servant, treated his daughter like garbage--until he found out she was the saintess, and then it was Exploitation Express all the way. So that guy can rot at the bottom of a dirty well, in my book. But.



I look forward to seeing how this all resolves for Aini, and the knock-on effects for the rest of the cast as things wrap up.

yeah - hearing the timeline of when Aini showed up at that household, to the point she entered the academy, really puts it into perspective.

Bernadetta had to cram over a decade's worth of "noble training" into half a year's worth of calendar. I think even Bernadetta herself would struggle accomplishing that same feat, much less someone who is also operating under the assumption that the academy is truly egalitarian and all of this is unnecessary in the first place.

Really, Aini was failed by everyone around her, from Day 1, in some capacity, right up until the universe handed her a literal miracle fix. She had no mental or emotional foundation to protect herself from anything happening to her, including the sudden rise to celebrity, which is arguably quite damaging on its own if you don't have a foundation of character that can shave off the sharp edges of that sort of status.

I think part of the problem is that Bernadetta had no idea how shitty Aini's education actually was.

Bernadetta probably would've done a lot better if she'd understood that she was working with someone who basically never completed elementary school.

It's... refreshing in a way to see Aini isn't an evil mastermind that reincarnated just to be the protagonist of the story.
Life dealt her a bad hand, had no one to rely on, and well... no friends, family or education that could help her become functional in society, basically.

Not saying I like her, but at least I understand where she's coming from.

Mother knew that her daughter was destined to be used as a tool to the family's benefit in one fashion or another. Awakening her powers really only served to make it that much worse.

Guys, remember that Bernadetta has photographic memory so strong she memorizes everything instantly, and she's also been shown to struggle with understanding the limitations of other peoples' memories. She's a bad teacher and can't really avoid that, because she literally cannot teach people to learn in the only way she knows how.
