Looks like he is the only one that died in the end. He sacrificed himself to save Tojo, to be precise, in ch 23 i think.

I thought it was bait like with the rest of the bullies, but there was a big time skip, and only he wasn't shown. Tojo just mentioned something he said to her in an interview as she remembered him, and that was it.

Take it with a grain of salt until we have proper translation that confirms it.

Yeah, the ending was so rushed, everything after that was kinda like an afterthought, I had to double check it to make sure I really didn't miss a thing.

To be fair on the translator, the duo's previous works always had a simp character at some point of the story so using that word is not far-fetched.
