So was this the first time it was shown why Kakyu ended up in hell? It seems like he killed that woman in the news, one way or the other.
How could you possibly come to that conclusion? It looks like it just happened to be on the news the day that he walked in on his colleague hanging. If it has some relation to Kakyuu, it's more likely it was either the work of his colleague or that guy at the end, but that's reading a bit too far into it still.

Not killing is impossible. We kill bacteria and tiny insects without even noticing we did it. Plants and simpler fungi as well. Dude simply can't accept such a broad condition.

Not to mention the worst thing you can do is to accept a deal from Satan. The house always wins, downstairs.

yeah, it feels more like the colleague did something to the woman, tried to die from guilt, got saved, but still took himself out from the guilt... and prolly got pushed by the father of the colleague

i dont think thats the case. considering he is confused about why he would act that way when he was being nice.

i think the guy who hanged himself killed the women. but mc did something to seemingly help him. which results in the body being found and the guy hanging himself.

society then blames his death onto mc(not legally cause he did nothing. considering that the dude screamed and cried publicly before hanging). then some keyboard warrior went and kill mc. feeling justified to do so.

Applying a more reasonable interpretation to the "do not kill" rule (i.e. leaving animals, plants, bacteria, etc off the list), and just barring him from killing others directly, that's not even that severe a restriction.

Just beat your enemies to within an inch of their life and mindwipe them, leave them injured, or have someone else deliver the finishing blow.

"If I'm up against a massive army and can't kill them..."

You know how much more terrifying it would be if an untouchable force walked through your battle line and just snapped everyone's knees?

Seems easy, but the monkey's paw has fingers for a reason.

Given the flashback and associated guilt/distress, I wonder if unintentionally causing death counts as "killing" for this context.
