As a rule I've always blocked any group with outside links instead of chapters. That way it doesn't clutter up my feed.

I've been moving any series that has mangaup manga+ or comickey over to comicx on komikku. I've noticed that over there are a bunch of translators who used to be here and a lot of new series are there and not showing up at all here. Just caught up on Almark as there's a bunch more chapters for it over there.

The only thing mangadex really had going for it is the community and comment section.

That being said, it's interesting to watch the death throws of a well developed site. They just rolled over and are pretending the mercy shotgun isn't aimed squarely in their face.

While the near decade of adding series to my MD library is a major factor, it's the community that keeps me coming back. It truely sad to see that the site is being gradually more and more enshitified. Frankly all that's left if for the data mining to start and it all be feed into training sets for our budding AI overlords....

Oh wait that already happened....

Same. Back in the day all the manga/anime sites used disqus and what not; and didn't really have proper per chapter comment pages - so I never joined those.
But since MD had that I genuinely liked being part of the fun.

(Probably will not sign up for any new sites, since they just keep getting shut and I have now learnt the fear of privacy and data breaches)

Back to being an anonymous pirate; gonna miss MD if/when it will be gone.

I hope we could get an alternative to MD, but that seems less likely as time passes and everything goes to shit. In the meantime, I guess I will join the discord, even if it is a pain to follow things there...
