It's a pretty standard take on "Demon vs. Human conflict". Both sides have good and bad people, humanity is simply being portrayed more in the bad light due to the story being told from the demon princess' POV.So what direction is this series going to go? The demons seem to be pretty evil so it might just play it straight with demons being evil and the demon princess needing to teach them to be good. It could be that this is just the author trying to mislead us before doing the cliche of the humans were Evil all along. Or it might do the other thing where neither side is evil and there's some third being that was manipulating everything.
Sorry, Schmerz, you've already lost. Best of luck with the happy marriage....Wait. Why am I talking about this with her...?
I think the thing is that, the Human side is largely mostly incompetent, and only survive cause Demon Princess wants a man. And sadly most human in the nation ended up taking this "peace" for grant and did nothing but continuing rotting themselves by their own incompetent.Scenes like this always piss me off. If the nation's royal palace was that easy to infiltrate, there would be no need for a peace deal between the warring nations. True this demon is only targeting the princess during "peace time", but that's no excuse for weak palace security.
Let's just pretend the same thing didn't happen for a thousand of times: Lone spy from human side infiltrating the demon lord castle, dodging the deadliest of the deadliest elite guards and liberate a key party member, sometimes even outright kill an influential demon elites. We're reading a manga, we don't need 20+ pages to explain things like "Oh, the palace is full of elite guards but such and such happened, meanwhile nameless (for now) demon snuck through using so and so power, coupled with this and that plot armor, blablablablabla... we're here to enjoy what's on the surface. LNs are where you can find those intricating plot, I'm afraid.Scenes like this always piss me off.
