Lime, you can't assume a fantasy harem MC to respond like any normal adult male would. They need to uphold an empty sense of morality and purity because it's the established trope.
I mean the MC is acting like a pretty normal non adult (still a high schoolers IIRC) or even for that matter full adult male from our world would. Not every guy wants to have sex with anything that moves ESPECIALLY for breeding purposes. That's not even just for pleasure at that point and in our world most people take having a child very, very seriously.

Like is said, it's a very different culture. Maybe if the MC were like Mormon. Sleeping around is one thing, but not even nearly every adult man is into that. This goes a big step further. Do you think every adult man in the world wants to be Nick Cannon? Do you think that's a normal response to the situation??

Only having sex when you are planned to get Married? That's so weirdly puritanical, I wouldn't call that Culture at all personally. Requiring marriage for sex is based on religious doctrine, and only that. I get being in a relationship first, I totally understand that, but why do you need marriage to be on the table? That's what's so weird to me.
I read it more as being in a long term relationship that you expect to go somewhere and wanting to be intimate only with someone you truly love. Whether the MC is devout religious or not and that's the reason, I have no idea. But in general I think someone wanting to be in a relationship they feel is real and have their first experience with sex be with someone they could see being with for the rest of their lives (whether that is the case or not) is far from weird. Especially when on the flip side you have lime talking about how he doesn't even remember who took his virginity. Neither are bad or even weird, but different values.

Good lord, I forgot how completely bonkers comment sections get when it involves the MC sleeping or not sleeping around with his "harem". I feel like there's a lot of projecting going on here in this story about a young adult (he was in high school before he got transported) male thrust from one world to another, and I find the chaos rather hilarious.

The author shouldn't write scenes like that in the first place if the story has an eternal celibate main character. It's annoying for both those who don't want any romance and for those who do, but obviously know it's never going to happen in this story.
I don't think people want to admit how weird Japan is with this stuff in terms of writing. Weird as in bad. It always feels very juvenile. You either have this literal minor (high school teenager) going full Nick Cannon or you have them completely ignore how down bad everyone (who doesn't have a penis) around them is. Like in this series in particular the culture differences in romance seems wrought with opportunity for interesting conflict. And it's briefly touched upon here. A major reason the gorgons are having trouble is due to the sensibilities instilled by the awful goddess in humans. Shiki thinks about how hard it'll be for tomoe and mio (two major characters and female leads) because of the MC's own sensibilities. Part of their relationship and devotion to the MC is soaked in feelings of love and sexual attraction. But the MC himself is uncomfortable with those feelings. Good writing is addressing that imbalance and progressing their characters and relationship while also exploring the culture of the world and helping the MC reconcile with how very different of a social environment he is in compared to how he grew up all his life.

Here it started really interesting and it could've been developed more. How does the very very different biology of these different races affect their culture and create problems when they interact with other cultures? How has the goddess kept non human races in line through means other than just violence? How does the MC tackle an issue that's something as important as the reproduction of offspring for a species, when he himself is still very young and uncomfortable with sexual subjects? And I'd honestly say this chapter handles it better than most similar isekai will, but it still just comes off as so flat and a bit of a nothing waste of time. All that really happens is "Gorgons will make dresses from our world (could develop really interestingly look) and Lime will handle it." All that the audience really cares about is either defending the MC's choice to not have a sex or attacking it. It comes off as more of a distraction to the story than anything.

Instead it just gets played off for jokes or to like show how pure and innocent the main character is compared to all the "degenerates" around him or idk anger the people reading that are projecting and just want a power fantasy in every way possible. Neither route is good or bad, but

Do you really think a normal highschooler would pass on having a harem? Are you kidding me?

From my perspective: Materialization is a state that maintains its form without external influence. If you cast water magic, it requires a constant supply of magic; otherwise, it will vanish into thin air.
That is a nice idea but as counter point: The Demon's Lake.

One of the very rare times I'd tolerate the MC being a mega herbivore towards his potential love interest because I myself don't feel any physical attraction to their designs, but then the author had to present a situation with these sex demons and now it's just frustrating

Our Ace King Mokoto deserves to usurp the shitty eugenics goddess and rule in her place.

I just want to point out, you do not need to add oil slowly to the eggs slowly for the mayonnaise to emulsify

The floodgates that would open if he took up the Gorgons offer would split the demiplane in two.
Yeah, because Tomoe and Mio would eradicate the Gorgons for getting what they were trying to get from him for a while now. So I'm pretty sure the Demiplane would turn into a sea of the Gorgons' blood.

The God in this world is a shitty Goddess who is basically evil. So it makes even less sense
Their not talking about the bug. She encourages polygamy. Which makes the whole thing about taking a harem feel kind of conflicting. On one hand there is no reason to ignore either of the ladies in your life, if they are really into you in such a world. But on the other hand, you are agreeing with the bug that it is okay to have multiple lovers. And I'd feel like refusing her ideals just out of spite.

Denying other people their culture's existence is both hurtful and ignorant. Learning to accept other people and their cultures, no matter how they differ from ourselves and our culture, even our idea of culture, is key to building a more loving world.
Burkas and genital mutilation were/are part of some cultures too, it doesn't mean you HAVE to accept it. There are many many other examples of disgusting behavior passed as rituals/culture. Stick to respecting human rights and we will all be fine.
And no, wearing burkas is not a choice when anyone who doesn't want to gets killed, maimed etc, etc.

Fuckin' love how the straight man isn't just the MC but his pals/subordinates as well. Really makes the "comically" in "comically out of touch" stand out :kek:

Feels kind of funny to have the manga now advertising its next arcs by talking about the anime that started after it.

What I am saying is that it's pointless for the author to write scenes that desperately try to explain the lack of romance after more than a hundred chapters. There shouldn't have been any readers with high expectations anymore, at this point, so everyone making it this far would have accepted the situation already.
Technically this isn't a scene trying to explain a lack of romance, it's explaining a lack of sex. If anything, this chapter ends with Makoto is becoming more conscious of the two due to this, which is a small step forward in the romance department.
