Been a wild ride, seeing this mass upload for the ending completed, thanks to all the groups for all these years. I’ll probably come back to read it as always but it’s a bittersweet goodbye to the fact that I will not see anymore new chapters pop up.

What's really annoying to me is that early on in the story there was kind of an implications that Kiyo might move from the maiko house to become a chef herself but seem like this was dropped or that was never the intention, I just find it out how she's actually the one talented cook, the main character and yet she doesn't really have any goal, I refuse to believe she just see herself working forever for the maiko like she has no other prospects as much as she like Sumire.

Yeah, it kinda bug me too how her name is literally in the title yet she has no to little character development. She just becomes the yes girl for Sumire. But, well, this is just comforting wholesome story which people tends to pick to avoid serious conflict. Even the Mother conflict really not that serious and resolved rather quick.

Started comfy in the kitchen so I knew it’ll end the same way. Azusa and Momoko are as close it as gets, the love triangle basically concluded in the gentlest way ever and that panel of Momohana closing the story with her dance and graduation was perfect.

Trust that her ambition to be a maiko was the source of everyone finding their place and their passion in Kyoto.

One of the better comfy manga endings so far, idk about y’all but I’m sated.

I'd have to disagree, as disappointed as I am in the ending myself. The English title might have her name in it, but the original Japanese name is just "The Caterer in the Maiko Manor." It was always about Kiyo in the maiko manor, being their caterer.

Suuchan is a geiko and the couple have the restaurant together... That's my ending. This is such a great manga.

The way both Kenta and Kiyo's eyes sparkles when they hold each other's hands. It's very subtle, as subtle as that famous Japanese phrase "The moon is beautiful tonight", which is the translation to the English phrase "I love You". Then Momohana graduating as a Maiko and chose Kurokami, a heartbreak song, as her graduation dance. Thankful for her experience and saying goodbye to her first love. This manga's love story is very beautiful and subtle.

I disagree that Kiyo needs growth or a goal of anything like that. Kiyo is loving and living her life, making the best out of her situations. I think it's very realistic. A lot of people in their life ended up doing the job they're doing because of happenstance. Some are very lucky like Kiyo and end up really loving their job too.

Depends on the availability of raws and people's interest in the manga. However, at least Kiyo fans will be interested.

But to be fair to the author, it was the correct choice to leave the romance hanging there.

Agree 100%. Even though I shipped KiyoxMomohana, and even though Momohana had a crush on Kenta, this manga was never a romance. I'm glad in the end it didn't commit to the romance aspect and let it stay in the background like it always had.

wouldn't call Kiyo self-insert, but I wouldn't be surprised that we had so little content from her POV because she was really meant to be the protagonist and the character through whom we viewed the world of the story.

This is my thought too. She's def supposed to be this blank slate character for the audience. But that just doesn't work in this manga. We spend so much time with her that I want her to have a personality, especially since everyone around her is encouraged and influenced by her.
