That was…just about as much as I expected this series to handle a topic like that. Thanks for dropping the content warning, but it’s almost unbelievable that the person “Kento Kokubun” would be made a massive mockery of after what happened at the school and his family…? Like, it’s just so odd that an event like a serial stabbing and taking one’s own life would proliferate in the media to become a “let’s make a mockery of the kid in that situation.” It’s so…random? Illogical? Weird? It was certainly a choice I guess.

I’m curious to see how all this will be handled in terms of logistics. He just up and revealed super powers to a cop and the fact that most of the individuals who went missing are alive in a different dimension.

Thanks for the translation!

Yeah and for that shocking revelation the princess will be rewarded yet again by giving her even more help to protect her people.
At least that's what this manga has shown so far. Larger than average tits > appropriate punishment.

Also...what's Kento expecting for her to feel remorse by telling her she killed more people?
The whole summoning endeavor was done by her in order to obtain disposable soldier slaves, to throw against the monsters and have them die in the stead of her people.
Plus Kento saw her clearly showing ZERO empathy when Funayama died as a direct result of her orders. Heck the Princess outright ordered the unceremonious disposal of his body by throwing it to be eaten by goblins...and called him a dead monkey.

The author already made this story a lot worse by having Kento reward her for what she did instead of actually punishing her.
I hope he won't have her now somehow magically grow a conscience and feel bad for killing a few extra "monkeys" during the summoning ritual.

It's rare to see an Isekai show the consequences of such a summoning on the Earth side. 49 kids dead, 150 injured and it was also the cause of MC's mom committing suicide.

This is pretty monstrous of the kingdom and it's sad that the princess will probably get away with it and join the MC's harem.

After all of the cliche stuff that happens in this, at times I forget how different this manga seems to be.

Having a summoned hero actually get to go back-and-forth between the worlds like this and try to deal with the consequences is so different (at least when travel-between-worlds isn't the MC's primary gimmick). And despite the red herring about not being believed at first because of bizarre reasons, he's talking to people in power that actually seem to believe him by the end of the chapter. Maybe the next chapter will make me think otherwise, but it is refreshing to not have the MC get dismissed out of hand and not have some weird reason for not talking to adults about his problem.

People has this odd "fascination" of making criminals famous by adapting their own accounts into books and memoirs. Wouldn't put it past them that this can happen. Just ask people like CM and NN.

Poor Kokubun.

It sells well too just ask journalist how they hound down and harass victims families when they lose someone in strange circumstances or everything isn't perfectly explained, some of the most disgusting human behavior.

Doesn't seem that far fetched to me. When some accident or disaster happens, there's generally 4 groups involved. The first group are those directly involved; both the victims and if applicable the perpetrators. Second are the ones who take action to help. Third are those who can't be bothered and just go about their lives as if nothing happened. And lastly, you've got the weirdos who whip out their phones and take videos of themselves with whatever's going on in the background to try and score internet clout off the suffering of others.

It’s definitely odd but not something I think could be unrealistic, the weirdest aspects of tragic events can stck in the public consciousness. It’s likely the most digestible part of the whole affair, you have an unsolved almost eerie mystery at the school with the vanishing kids but a wife stabbing her cheating husband 20 odd times is understandable at least.

I mean shit with friends I joke about tragic stuff all the time, social media just has a lot of that spill out into the public now.

I do like that we have a baseline being built up for Kokubun to have a firm and solid sense of self. The involvement with the Japanese government feels like it might drag on a bit but everyone should need to develop without excuses or purely leaning on Kokubun. Princess being held to account for the other deaths is also excellent, I really cannot want her probably not raped honestly that’d just be a mess but have to pay for it. A shift in her mindset would be more satisfying for me, death is a bit too easy.

People making a mockery of big events that they weren't directly impacted by can be an interesting idea but holy shit it was so poorly told. At first I thought the mom somehow knew what happened to Kokubun and she tried to tell everyone but fell into depression because the media made a fool of her or something and committed suicide.
Turns out the people roleplaying on the road was because of isekai fanatics that tried to connect a misfortunate accident to a "fun" theory.
Really badly told for a sound idea.
