I really liked this chapter, but it just hit me...

Now he has someone that he can communicate with. Not 100% since the other can't speak, but it can understand him COMPLETELY o.o A huge part of the handicap has been lifted, lol.

I wonder if it's a telepathy thing where the words don't matter, just the intent/thought of what someone wants to convey, rather than the creature simply being another japanese reincarnate.

I thought this was gonna be the introduction of an unnecessary, annoying pet monster but it immediately became interesting with the thing being able to speak Japanese and all.
Hope it distracts the guy from suddenly wanting to be a cartographer for some reason.
Dude was given extraordinary physical abilities but he just decides to run around and make a map of the place instead of learning about the people or the world or just fighting monsters.
