I'm sorry, but her sympathetic speech should mean nothing, people from the slum do not have the same opportunities as others. You can predict a person's future financial success almost entirely on their zipcode, you do not just tell someone from the hood that "I believe in you, don't be bad!"

The author tried to wrap that one up too quickly. I expected Jelly to offer him a job, or start investigating the slums. They exist for a reason.
