I'd guess it's because the new character brings out a different side of him beyond just being the "cool, competent coworker". Now he's more of a character instead of just "the guy who got rejected by Misato and has no other choice but to still be around".Why did this feel SO good to read? Perhaps because that guy got knocked down alittle. (there is something about him i dislike. not because of his crush but.. perhaps he needs to be.. there?)
It is! And the drama, you'd think people grow up from it after high school, but nooooooo...the panel on the left.... life is perpetually high-school sigh
