"whats the point of this story if the lesbian starts dressing like a lesbian?!?!?"

many lesbians embrace their feminine sides and don't force themselves into looking like men.
tyvm.
Thank you. I hate this shitty stereotype so freaking much. No, not every lesbian on earth likes to dress like a man. The majority of us look like normal women
Has it ever occurred to you that some women dress masculine because they want to?

No, it very much should NOT have.

I know this is hard for yuri fans to grasp, but yuri isn't the only important thing in any manga ever.

This manga has always been about godly art, subtly complex and vivid emotional content, character analysis and development, and slices of life ranging all the way from ridiculously fluffy to terrifyingly dramatic. The relationship between Komichi and Erika might've been the only thing that ever mattered to yuri fans, but it was never even close to the only thing the manga's about.

There are so many more stories left to tell.

what's the point of all those stories, if the main character herself was this close to throwing away a huge chunk of development of herself?
they can always make spin-offs to focus on other characters, but last time i checked, this manga was about Komichi Akebi.
And coincidentially, a huge chunk of this manga focused on developing the relationship between Komichi and Erika, but you might've missed that small little detail from all the hate against yuri enjoyers.

Noooooo, give me back my girly Erika! :qq:
Her previous evolution was good enough, the shirt and pants with ponytail worked wonders. But this?!

Seems we'll be getting another sad backstory that will trouble Komichi, like we had with Mai. I don't want sleepy neko girl to be sad sleepy neko girl

If you think this has just been about Komichi, then you obviously haven't been paying attention.

That says to me that you don't remember the end of chapter 3, when Hiro dedicated two pages to the pictures and the names of every member of the class, all of whom we've gotten to know better, and in many cases much better, in the nine years since - that you don't remember how much of a role Komichi's mom has played since the very beginning, when we saw the flashbacks of her making Komichi's seifuku. That you don't remember Tanigawa taking embarrassing selfies, or Touko making cookies, or Neko doing kyudo, or Komichi and Erika and Touko and Ai in Tokyo, or Touko running into her old school friends or Erika's interactions with her dad, or Ai meeting Kao at the festival, or when Togano was first introduced - when she declined to trade seats so that Nawashiro could sit next to Washio - or Hotaru flitting around the school like a fairy, or Shijou coming to terms with being overweight and building up the courage to cheerlead and to try on the bikini, or Riri challenging Komichi to a swimming race, or Minoru out tramping through the forest watching the animals, or Tougeguchi remembering the admission exam or doing that brilliantly illustrated ping pong serve (even though she lost the match anyway), or the wonderful series of chapters as Togano has tried to encourage Hebimori to play guitar, or the Akebi family at the beach or any of the countless other things that have been about someone and something other than just Komichi.

Don't presume to lecture me on this series - I've been here since the beginning - https://forums.mangadex.org/threads/akebi-chan-no-sailor-fuku.59478/post-3616107

And yes - the relationship between Komichi and Erika has been central. Erika is, after all, the first person she met from the class, in chapter 2.

And to all indications, their relationship is still going to be central. It's just apparently NOT going to be as a couple. or at least not yet. Which is entirely understandable if you actually paid attention and remembered that Komichi has already said that she doesn't even understand what romantic love is supposed to be.

Since Hiro follows a sort of scattershot timeline, we have no idea what's coming next, but it's clear that somewhere along the way in the not too distant future, we're going to get more on Komichi and Erika - that makeover is a pretty significant thing, and they apparently have very different ideas of what their relationship is, so they have some things to deal with. But we're also obviously going to get some details on Neko and her backstory, just as we got a focus a while back on Togano and her backstory. And there's no telling what else we'll get, but anyone who's actually been paying attention for the last nine years (and isn't blinded by yuri goggles) should already know that it's going to be MUCH more than just Komichi and Erika.

Akebi is mentally defficient.
that's what's rubbing people the wrong way.
the manga's title and focus are the one character, just because some pages are dedicated to others, does not mean the main character is not the main character, or no longer the focus.
that's backwards thinking.
i've also been here from the start, and at least Erika genuinely loves Komichi.
Komichi also 'felt' plenty during their kiss, on their date.
it might've been a play to her, but that's what is pretty dumb in the first place.
just because you assume you understand something 100%, does not mean it's well written or free of error.

Then what is your point?

the person i initially responded to, was saying that all lesbians dress like men.
i told them that many, a huge chunk, maybe half, maybe more, lesbians prefer keeping their feminine looks and also dress that way.
you came butting in with a response that misses all of the above.

Then why’d you say that weird shit about lesbians forcing themselves to look like men?

I genuinely didn't realize that was Erika not only because she looks completely different, but also chapter 89 Komichi was alone and in page 17 she yelled "I'm waiting for you" why she did that if Erika wasn't gone?

reading comprehension is not your strong suite, is it.
Well, why don’t you explain it then instead of being passive aggressive? Because even knowing what you mean I would still probably respond to that statement that some lesbians dress like that because they want to, not because they’re forcing themselves to.

Friendly reminder for everyone involved in the discussion to please keep it civilised, since otherwise the hammer will fall over someone's head, and not for a short period of time.
Thanks for cooperating everyone! :02:
