I just realized that from this chapter onward Ichi's default position in the library changes from standing up and facing the bookshelf to sitting down next to her. I like that Chii wound up unintentionally being responsible for them getting closer in a way.

And of course after this conversation Ichi immediately resolves to start going to bed earlier so he doesn't keep Yamada up too late texting him.
