feel like "Ruler of the Demons" is a bit of a mouthful if it's a stand-in for "maou", which is already translated as "Demon King" in the title and in "Demon's King Castle"... sucks that it's hard to preserve the gender neutrality of "maou" in English :/

i'm part of the side that doesn't like keeping the japanese speech patterns.... but since the other comments are mentioning what the official translation is doing, i have to say keeping the japanese is the lesser of two evils

the raws say ジャンビーヤ (janbi-ya) which is pretty obviously a janbiya from a quick google search :/

I think the translation for the rabbit-drinking-soda panel is slightly off. He should be like "you don't have good taste" and the rabbit should be like "meat tastes good to me!" Saying that the soda tastes like meat is... weird

i think the "girl that I loved" is probably the same girl in the flashback that told Yuka "you'd better die naked". edit: oh wait Yatora immediately asks that afterwards so that's probably it lmao

I also think Yuka is likely to be trans, but I think it's very intentional of the author to leave it ambiguous and not put a label on it, since the reader's confusion as to how to describe Yuka would probably mirror Yuka's own feelings.

i agree with the maki/maky change. personally i'd say the distinction between their "real" names and the "butchered" names that they get called by is a valuable distinction, even if it's pretty minor.

re: an earlier post, it definitely feels like a standard shonen executing its tropes faithfully, but i would say the author did a good job at worldbuilding which is what's keeping me interested.

kinda wish there was a more interesting mystery here besides twin trick, but oh well i was also hoping it was somehow the mistaken location trick too, but it would definitely be unlikely for the clubroom if they visit it regularly
