Hmm... Perhaps school bullies actually drove someone important to Jimi into a suicide (maybe even a brother), and that's the thing that broke him. Later his own "scandal" could be related to a student performing a suicide, but Jimi would have been past caring at that point. The facts he continues in his hated teacher's job, as if cursed to never switch careers, and that he hates students, could be somewhat explained by it. If he himself had done something wrong, his attitude ought to be different. If he was merely the victim of inevitable circumstances, yet was still accused of not doing enough, I don't see why he would continue as a teacher, even if it fulfilled the second condition of hating students (and other teachers).
