I don't think that it is because of it being high tech, is just that I've been grouping the tabs together so they consume less space(the tabs I'm using in 1 group and the rest of the tabs in different groups). And rn I've switched my mobile, but for a while my Chrome has started to lag pretty badly as well.

Basically, just try grouping the tabs and keep the tabs in a single group that you are using
