I agree. One of the best chapters in a while.
We had progress last few chapters but it was bad. Further strengthening the triangle with Tadano still not knowing that he's being tossed around by these two(Sorry, but that "You gonna a date without telling him, then I go on a date without telling him" kinda annoyed me).
Loved the last page gif though. Keep up the food good work.

If there's one thing that ticks me off, it's eating disorders.

My grandma is anorexic, my mother used to be anorexic, I had a friend who died of anorexia, my sister was on the verge of that fucking disorder.

So the line "if you eat rice this late you will get fat" really soured this entire chapter for me. Komi has a great figure, telling her to watch her weight is fucking disgusting. Let her eat all the rice she wants!

And to every girl out there: when you're hungry, have a meal! There is nothing wrong about that! And there is nothing wrong with your body!

Fuck, now I'm in a bad mood. And Komi is not suppos d to get me in a bad mood 😡

@User1898 That sort of talk is the reason we have so much obesity. Anorexia is very, very rare. Being a fatass is very, very common. It's natural that we should discourage this for a variety of reasons.

@doomskull is absolutely right.

A gentle reminder to maintain healthy eating habits is not at all the same as a toxic environment pressuring someone to maintain perfect beauty standards. Don't confuse the two.

@User1898 And...that's how you get fat faster..
At midnight, your body is literally resting so all the calories from that food that should've burn instead becoming fat. It's a no no in common sense, at least take a little snack if you literally hungry at that time or drink much of water...

I don't understand why people keeps talking about filler in a manga where's the main focus is slice of life and comedy. I know there's romance, but do you seriously think this is that kind of manga?!

Imagine getting asspained about promoting proper eating habits to maintain a non fatass artery clogging state of being. Yes there are cancerous societal norms that lead to women leading unhealthy lives of doing shit like purging after eating to try and get a body to that of a model, but as the previous duder said there are way more fat fucks in the world slowly killing themselves because they do shit like eat a fuckton of calorie dense food before going to bed. Rice is an extremely calorie dense food btw if you didnt know.

Ok, no, bullshit. I know it's dumb to pick this out but fresh miso soup in 2min? Even if you're so used to it you can eyeball the dashi and miso thus skipping measuring, the water heating up would take longer than that, and wakame doesn't rehydrate that quickly. On top of that, you'd have to take into account the wakame soaking up some of the water thus concentrating the base more, and you're supposed to drain wakame before adding it into stuff; the water it's soaked in becomes really salty (usu. preserved with a lot of salt) and agar-like, this would pollute the soup itself.

Normally I don't leave more than 1 comment, but you guys rub me the wrong way.
@doomskull it's specific to USA only if I don't mistake. I've visited most of Europe, east and west. And the majority is pretty fine. Being a fatass is not rare, but surely uncommon. In Asia, I suppose, the average is even better. In Africa, well... Anyway, you'd better not make this mistake again, please. The whole world is not like the USA.
@zero777 Bullshit. I can eat a ton of things, sweets included, right before going to bed, and I stay of same weight no matter what. And I am average, not fat. And I have a bunch of friends who are the same. It all depends on metabolism, and it's specific from person to person. Even not all women are subject to "instant gaining after party night". Your common sense is not common. Cancerous society norms
@User1898 man, I feel ya. My parents who always repeat stereotypical things like "don't eat sweets before meal" even now, when we occasionally meet and eat together, irritate me a little. THAT'S WHY it's just another one of things to respond "yeah, deja vu". You'd better not overreact, it gives bad smell. And provokes flaming, yep

@User1898 I really think that her mother was joking about getting fat and did it only to get a reaction from her daughter. I mean, she did make more food and also ate a 2nd Onigiri. Just my opinion though.

I've heard of the concept of a midnight snack, but I've never EVER experienced it.

Nor has anyone I know.

5 am burritos, yes I've had those. To soak up the alcohol.

@User1898 But Komi’s mom is right though. I used to eat at night and that severely impacted my weight and promoted an unhealthy lifestyle.

In this case, it seems Komi’s mom is joking and warning her in a light hearted way not to make it a habit. Once in a while is fine but this type of thing can easily become a habit coming from personal experience.

Congrats. You rubbed ME the wrong way. "There are people in Africa starving so you better not make the mistake of thinking obesity is a problem again". How about YOU don't repeat the mistake of downplaying the largest health crisis in the developed world? From the CDC:

The prevalence of obesity was 39.8% and affected about 93.3 million of US adults in 2015~2016.
Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer that are some of the leading causes of preventable, premature death.
The estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the United States was $147 billion in 2008 US dollars; the medical cost for people who have obesity was $1,429 higher than those of normal weight

According to the WHO over 50% of Europeans are overweight, and over 20% are obese. But I guess you went to some places and they looked fine so that's not true, huh? If you're going to make snide condescending comments you better make sure you've at least GOOGLED THE THING YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. While you're at it, google "dunning kruger".

Oh, so you have a high metabolism thus nutrition doesn't real? Do you not understand that you having a high metabolism doesn't mean everyone does, in fact most don't? That's what it means to be not-average. "Cancerous" stupidity. White rice is a processed food and high in very simple sugars; it is the grain stripped down to just the endosperm which is almost exclusively sugar. This means it will very quickly become glucose in the bloodstream and when eaten by itself without more complex nutrients to break down and fibrous materials, this will cause an insulin spike. Do you know what repeated insulin spikes cause? Diabetes for one. Do you have any idea how many problems are associated with diabetes? You don't have to be fat to develop diabetes, either. There's even research showing insulin spikes correlate with shortened telomere length; it literally makes you age faster! Furthermore, if you have a bunch of glucose and insulin in your blood while you're idle guess what happens to it once your glycogen stores are filled up, and moreso if they already were? It's stored as drumroll.... BODY FAT! LIKE HER MOM WARNED ABOUT!!!
