Yeah...
You read it right! 13!!!
Here I thought that 13 years old kid nowadays:
  • Go to school
  • Play Fortnite/Minecraft
  • Buy those influencers merch crap
But now kids are making pump and dump scams.

I found this news on this Lessons in Meme Culture video:

And found a "great" article talking about it.

Now, for those who don't know what is a pump and dump scam,
In the world of crypto,
it is a scam where the asset owner lure and bait investors to high up the asset value, "pump it"
and sell it shortly after. "dump it"

Back to the kid, you may ask how much money did he get.
Well, around 30 ~ 40k USD.
Yup. That's a lot of money.

Anyway, I am now wondering how that kid parents will react to this and what will he buy with that much money...

Saw this in Ghost in the Shell SAC except this kid used ZERO money at all to pull 40k while Batou needed to use four pensioner's money.

MONEY OUT OF AIR. OR PROBABLY FROM HIS NOSE.

From the screenshots on the news article you linked, the kid can be seen trading on pump.fun
Looking at it, it seems like a website made for pump and dumping with random meme coins, so saying it was a pump and dump scam isn't really appropriate.
