Thank you for finishing this manga serialization.

Genuinely enjoyed this one, despite how slapdash it got towards the last few chapters--the pace really did jump faster than it could run...
Hopefully that new series does well.

Kind of a terrible ending, not gonna lie. Half the fun of these kinds of things is seeing the complete downfall and cradh out of the "heroine". A random ego death asspull's not satisfying at all.

Still, I'm glad that Pukuru got his revenge at least. That vicious smile and missing leg doesn't bode well for the "Saintess", though I hope we get to see what Pukuru did in the future.

Thanks for the translations!

I honestly wouldnt mind if it ended right here, even if it feels a bit rushed. But as other have pointed out now Im excited for the next arc.

We still havent gotten any explanation of the "system" and true closure with the original Lunaria (i think, unless its been confirmed that shes DEAD dead)

starting over from chapter one, its a new series with the same name, if it started with 34 then that would be different
This is the same case that happened to a couple of series that originally ended and got a continuation under the same title,
YJK's Unusual Affection and Fechippuru which both new arcs started over from chapter 1, but didn't get a new entry here in mangadex (or anywhere else where you can track), because the manga volumes keep the count going as they were still the same serie (tho MD chapters for those 2 series are deleted now), which more than likely will be the same case here as they are all kodansha series

Is not like Arc 2 will start over from Volume 1, whenever it release, it will be Volume 9, just like Fechippuru ended with Vol. 5, but new arc got Vol.6, or YJK being the same, ending with Vol.5 and then getting Vol.6 with the new arc, with both chapter count starting over from ch.1 in the ToC

Ain't dead if there ain't no body (and as amusing as the leg drop was, 'tis hardly conclusive)

This ending was definitely rushed, and the comedic elements made it read moreso. And a giant syringe as the penultimate strike? ...how mundane

Fox ears Lunaria is a win :win:

I appreciate the author's attempt at a Calvin&Hobbes style ending though. Not entirely successful but gotta appreciate the intent

The conclusion to most of the plot elements is definitive, and I really hate when the manga decides to keep going anyway, inventing a whole new arc which has almost nothing to do with what was before. I dropped quite a few villaines mangas (they seem to be guilty of it the most) which decided to invent a continuation after a definitive conclusion, not out of spite, but because they failed to keep me interested.
So all this talk about a new arc is bollocks to me, unless the hypothetical continuation manages to distinguish itself enough from the main work.
But yeah, I am happy we got a conclusion to this work of fiction

To those of you complaining about the next arc starting with chapter 1, you have heard of novels in a series, right? I mean, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets doesn't continue the chapter number from Philosepher's Stone.

I liked the conclusion and the hints for the next arc.

on the one hand: the saintess getting defeated by her own hubris fits really well, that she gets eaten by the divine beast is also a nice touch imho, poor guy got tormented by her quite a bit after all.

on the other hand: denying the MC the final strike feels disappointing.

overall the final battle probably should have been shorter, it overstayed its welcome for a bit too long, combined with the deflating end it feels disappointing.

i know she's using magic but that is an absurdly steep bridge for a carriage to go across even if its being boosted by her magic
Even worse, apparently it's a bridge of ice. I can assure you from experience, not snow or packed snow but actual ice is really, really hard to drive on, especially uphill.

Agreed. Really, the only way to make this satisfactory is for the true end to involve Mana anyhow. Is that the purpose for the leg, or the off-screen death? Who knows. Maybe it's just an immature writer showing their lack of experience. But we have an arc 2, so there remains a chance.

tbh I assume the 2nd arc will mainly be about how MC will handle the demon king. She did summon them into her body after all, and she is shown to have some tatoo suddenly and the little shadow pet appeared.

Get syringed, idiot.

For once, we see the supposed heroine turned villain get actually killed, no second chances and no risk of future problems. Also, with the sacred beast killing Mana not only Lunaria's hands remain clean, it could also be seen as a divine punishment.

On another note, does anyone know any titles in which an evil saintess has her powers taken away by the god of that universe? I'd like to see a proactive god that stops the evil from happening.
This one does. It's about a sumo loving lady reincarnating as the villainess, but the goddess is a bit of a dumbass. I won't say more to spare spoilers.
