Maybe he will say it in such a way, Karen actually misunderstands, that he's confessing to her, even though he has totaly different intentions

The other alternarive is he clearly says the "start over with the prince thing", but like it's for Karen's future or smth and she falls even more for the MC

I would propose the MC to do the villainous move of pulling the prince’s pants down while he’s casting that spell.

Other alternative moves maybe tying his shoe laces together (if they have laces), softly blow into his ears, or the classic tickling would work too.

Funny: because the prince does end up losing with his pants literally down 😂
