So wait is it meant to be set in actual history or is this set in a manga/otome game that in turn is set in history?

If it’s the former i will pretend it is the latter because i can see my brain spending too much time whining about historical inaccuracies than just enjoying the bloody story.

Also did she seriously call marie antoinette the most tragic queen in history? I can hear the many bodies of the starved french populous rolling in their graves

@nathirius I agree. I rather it be fantasy world based on the story of Marie Antoinette than the actual history itself, because people always get her story wrong in every way. But its a change the past type of story, so even if it is time travel instead of isekai, so historical inaccuracies are fine since, well, the whole point of it is to well, change history, unless the author is going the path of nihilism.

@hedgemoney yeah you have a point, its just that i find when media presents history and tries to make it come off as authentic I always feel wary as it may present an unathentic lens of the period by not presenting it correctly or even worse romanticising it.
Like how its pretty clear that Marie is perceived in this story as a tragic character when the truth is anything but that.
Plus there tends to be a lot of people who base their historical knowledge on media and get a warped image of history.

Well, the OG Marie A. did try to influence the king as much as she could, only in a completely harebrained direction, which mixed with his own harebrained scheming rather splendidly. MC might avoid some of her dumb mistakes, but she seems precisely the type to make a whole slew of new dumb mistakes.

Not that any of this is likely to matter in this comedy manga loosely based on pop history.

Other reincarnated villainess MC: I just have to break up with the ML and not bully the heroine and I'll be a-ok :))))))

This MC: I HAVE TO STOP THE FRENCH REVOLUTION

Super farfetched ending prediction:
At the very last moment, after failing to stop the French Revolution, despite doing her best to use her influence to improve the economy, FMC will still be facing the Guillotine. Just as she is beheaded, her soul will return to her original body in the original timeline and she will wake up, not with an Eiffel Tower replica sticking out of her back, but rather a rather large bump on her head. She will wonder whether it was all just a dream, which the mangaka will leave ambiguous to us readers.

@dexec

On page 3, "Happy Birthday, Toumi" is probably supposed to be "Happy Birthday to me", since she's singing the song to herself.

Now here's the issue. If you remove the events of the French revolution, you will then realise ideas like liberty and independence would not have taken into the way we remember it. Thanks to the French revolution, Napoleon would not have concurred Europe.
Modern Europe would be the same.

Wow this is so refreshing since she travelled to the past as a historical figure and not in an otome game or manga or novel.... Really wanna see more

I just realised... Eiffle tower killed her and now she's married off to France ( ╹▽╹ ) and she will alter historical events if she were to live differently .... Dang she will probably seem like a selfish person if she were to do everything to live because the French revolution became a stepping stone for lots of good advancement.... Buuuuttt either way... This is still just a manga sooo let the author do the worrying

How sharp was that Eiffel Tower? Did they not put a warning on that thing?

Countless causes of death or get summoned => Goes to another world
Impaled by an Eiffel Tower => becomes French Noble during the 18th century.

It's like getting daikyou when you pull an omikuji.
