Also, what sofia has done is not logically the best decision she could've made as someone who has the power to eventually destroy the black guild, but the emotional investment she has in the children shows that she has the right mentality needed to save the slums from this darkness in the future, so they're both not as wrong. @ruth1ess lol, soul and body are two different things. it makes far more sense to say the age of their body is their age and all they have are years of memories. A developing brain of a kid is going to lead to the same things no matter the memories. Chances are you would make a lot of the same mistakes a child would, you'd be emotionally underdeveloped as memories don't take all the weight of your ego and chances are your ego would reflect the bodies parents and thsoe you grow up around. Don't think I've seen isekai where the reincarnators intent is being a pedo

@Liquidxlax There actually are quite a few where the reincarnated isekai kids are pedophiles, since they have the mind of an adult (in my case, I'm separating the mind, body, and soul, where mind is the actualization of the person's soul based on the body, the soul is the memories, and the body is the biological age, in case of pedophilia argument, the mind's age is most important). And there are quite a few that are pedophiles anyways regardless of biological age of the body (18 for most countries, 13 for japan's age of consent which is the lowest amongst 1st world countries, but I guess that means, they don't consider it pedophilia since 13 is age of consent, which is well within the majority of people on earth's moral scale that it is waayyyyyy too young, and some may not have even started puberty yet). Example: Mushoku tensei. The MC was a stereotypical middle aged anime/manga otaku and even though he had a body of a child, he had the mind of a middle aged man, and was still basically a pedophile, since his mind and soul were independent of his body's biological functions.

Basically, regardless if they are in the body of a teenager (or a child for that matter), if they have the experience of an adult and still want to have the sex with the underage kids, they are pedophiles regardless. I mean, they have ones where the babys are lecherous after hot girls, where all they should be thinking is basic instincts cause they have the body of a baby.

Anyways, IMO, if they have the mind of an adult, and they lust after kids, they are fucking pedophiles, regardless of how old their bodies are. If they have the soul of an old man, a mind of a child, and a body of a child, they shouldn't be lusting in the first place cause they haven't hit puberty yet. But considering age of consent is 13 in japan, its not pedophilia....

I agree with what Cyril says about how helping them may be counterproductive as it could mean more resources diverted away from improving the standard of living of her territory. It's certain not a bad thing to help those people, but every choice comes with an opportunity cost. The same funds to help them could be used to build orphanages and children hospitals that could be more efficient on a larger scale instead of taking so many people in. However, all those larger solutions take a lot more time such that helping the kids at the moment will be a faster solution.

Anyways, Cyril understands he doesn't really have the right to deny her from helping others as he is also one of the beneficiaries.

Very well then, so then what will you do when word spreads out that you saved someone, then someone else decides to ask for your help will you reject them? If you accept them more people will come, will you reject them?
Of course you can stop after a few people, but then you have left someone to die so in the end someone will get hurt, and the person you decline will feel as if you are being unfair and so will others.

So someone will get hurt sooner or later, you can't go in 'not wanting to be a bad person' someone WILL get hurt

and you've only done it so that you feel good about your self.

This is the ending that comes if you continue to take people in, everyone dies and the only thing remains is your satisfaction of saving people.

I don't know if this is hypocrisy or not, but I am only human, not a God. As a human, I can only save a few, maybe one of them, but not all of them who ask for help. Because I, a human, am only capable of that much. But even then, I would try to save them, no matter how limited my capabilities are. If that is hypocrisy, then I'm fine being a self-satisfied hypocrite. If that is evil, then I am fine with being evil.
