This one nice chapter, and I like how teachers are proud of their students to beat them in their own fields.

And this was a clever puzzle. I was thinking the entire time "why can't they just create some sort of heavy metal and be done with it" and then I remembered that Anna cannot use any advanced magic beside wind.

This trials ought to be fun, cannot wait for the next chapter.

I don't know all the references on the extra page but I do really like the detail of tanned ojisan in the gyaru piece, star platinuim ojisan is amazing and these fan drawn stuff really makes me appreciate graces design I've read a lot in this genre and a lot of the FL's can really start to blur a bit even tho a villianess design should standout
The references are golden!
on the left bottom is space pirate captain Grace
Middle top is jojo grace with kenzaburo as stand
And middle bottom is my favorite "May I Ask for One Final Thing" with Grace alongside the best girl ever Scarlet, and kenxaburo in the back as ryu from SF.

I'm super surprised the author knows of that manga, the others i'm not sure

He isn't giving the girls a handicap. He's giving himself a handicap.
As soon as the teacher made Grace and Anna's half of the bamboo four times as long, I realized that he gave himself the advantage. Bizarrely, neither of them objected by pointing out that he should have made his side four times as long; instead of the girl's side.

At first, I was thinking that either the author didn't understand how fulcrums work, or was going to cleverly reveal at the end that they knew the whole time, but wanted to outwit him, even with a disadvantage. But then we get to what actually happens. Grace and Anna win by lengthening the teacher's side of the fulcrum. So the author does know how fulcrums work. Strangely, neither Grace nor Anna point out that the teacher gave himself an advantage at the start; instead of a handicap. I have no idea why they haven't brought it up yet.

Just to clarify, all the artwork I shared in the afterwork is by the original mangaka, Ueyama Michirou-sensei. A link to his Pixiv page is also included..

Is that a Mouretsu Pirates reference in the credits page?
It was a reference to Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, adapted into the English franchise as Power Rangers Super Megaforce. The author is known to be a fan of tokusatsu and Japanese superhero media.

You’ve got most of it! From the top left downward:
  • There’s a social media trend in Japan where people shape their shadows to look like a cat. In this case, the shadow is shaped like Kenzaburou.
  • Grace is dressed as Gokai Red from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, which was adapted into the English franchise as Power Rangers Super Megaforce. Grace’s voice actress also played Gokai Yellow in the same series.
  • Grace is dressed as Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, with Kenzaburou acting as her Stand.
  • Grace is posing together with Scarlet from Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshou ka (May I Ask for One Final Thing?), while Kenzaburou is dressed as Ryu from the Street Fighter franchise (I actually missed that, so thank you!).
  • I could only fit a small image of both maids, Mathilde and Josette, into the remaining gap. (Which is a Pop Team Epic reference. Thanks, ssj4maiko)
  • Grace and Anna are dressed in gyaru fashion. There’s no specific reference or trend here, the author simply enjoys drawing his characters in different outfits from time to time.
There are lots and lots of artwork like these by Michirou-sensei, you can visit his Pixiv page to see more!

Hmm... I think there's slight misunderstanding here. From this diagram:

We can see that Grace and Anna’s (will be shortened as GA from now on) side has twice the length of the Killian Experience teacher side, and the condition for winning is to tip the orb to their side by adding magic to the orb on their side. So, because the GA side is twice the length, the teacher needs to apply at least twice the force to keep it in balance, and even more to tip the scale. And since GA’s side has two people supplying the magic, and assuming that they contribute the same amount of magic, that’s why the author mentioned that they have a four-times advantage.

At the end, Grace and Anna make their distance to the fulcrum even greater by pushing the orb farther away using ice magic.

Oh, I get it now. My mistake was in thinking that the goal was to get your opponent's orb to tip. I didn't realize that the goal was actually to tip you own orb.

That one is a Pop Team Epic reference

And for those who didn't get the manga reference about the climbing and facing trials to reach the objective, that's Saint Seiya / Knights of Zodiac, where the Bronze Saints have to climb through the 12 houses to save Athena, and in each house there is a Gold Saint to stop them.

I feel like it would have been an more impressive addition of physics, if the teacher hadn't already made their side longer.
As it is now, physics where already part of the equation, rather then something they should add themselves.

I think this is the first manga instance where I've seen physics actually applied to magic. I love it
