It's considered very rude in the community and you can only do it if you have a significantly better version of the chapter (either picture quality-wise or translation quality-wise). It is okay to snipe in the sense, there's no issues with the rules on MangaDex. It's just looked down upon and receives resentment.

I'm pretty impressed by the April fools prank, but I think I'm actually more impressed by how many people read the ENTIRE announcement. Usually they read about half then hop on the comments to let her rip.
