My guess is that Hamita was just doing this until he got plans for a new serialization to keep people following him and his twitter and not forget about him.

So, there's another manga that pulled this same trick. I don't think she's hallucinating, but I do think he's dead. Importantly, the speech bubbles "from the commoner" here are in panels where there's no speech bubble trail lines shown to show who's talking / where it's coming from. So she's probably talking to herself.

Edit: Also, back in chapter 37, right before the mob stomped the hell out of him (probably to death) was the last time we saw a speech bubble actually coming from the commoner. So yeah, he's dead, the mob killed him.

Mr. Shorts left after taking one look at Commoner. Weird. Man murdered his cat and some rando about to kill his prey, but then he apparently leaves without completing the mission. Likely a setup for an incoming twist.

Didn't think about it before, but 41 chapters in and miss arrogant slave herself still doesn't have a backstory to go with her fighting skills, or why she's a slave, or why she was "arrogant" and lacking in common sense. Maybe Hamita didn't think about it either...
