Just dropping in some TRUTHBOMBS to people who somehow managed to make it to Ch5 without reading any of the previous chapter.

1: He didn't want to become a murderer. He even states that he regrets it in chapter 1.
2: He didn't know how powerful the princess was. After all, she was only startled when he arrived, but remained stoic while talking to him. He can discern a person's character after all which is how he knew the Hero was acting strange.
3: His spider senses are level 1. He's a good judge of character, but not the situation.

1: Stealth makes him undetectable.
2: Stealth breaks when attacking. It's a common MMO trope. He'll die if he stays to fight.
3: He can't control Shadow Magic, and there's a chance that it will devour his classmates since the princess and king are hiding among the crowd His shadow magic was only strong because Saran was there to make it strong.
Some other tidbits that you may have missed.
1: MC Was given a jet black Katana that Saran stole from the treasury. The castle has magic cameras. Why is the hero's keepsake left here?
2: Zeal knows about the Night Crows, so there's a chance he and Saran has had a runin with them in the past.
If anything, the only major plothole is how Saran's unit is not being taken to prison right now.

I'm more confused why he didn't speak up and point out that they KNOW his dagger was destroyed and that they should thus know it wasn't him. Heck, he could've brought a whole lot to light, like the curse the princess placed on the hero. Even if it's unlikely to change much in the moment, it should sow some seeds of distrust among those present, especially if he says Saran was helping him investigate who placed the curse on the hero.

@StealthAria The curse affects their behavior. Think of it like brainwashing. Pointing out the truth may sow doubt, but it won't break the control and they'll still accuse him.

In the light novel one of the students who was affected: The Samurai Asahina Kyousuke. He was Akira's only true friend among the students. He explained that during this time when they were all accusing him, He was wondering why he can't stop staying mad and accusing to Akira. That's why even if Akira tries to speak up and justify himself, his classmates won't listen.

1 as was pointed, while he has assassin job it didn't make him experienced in killing.
2 it not make any point if he shows face or not. he has fucked way before sneaking into princess room to break curse. it's plain to see that moment he saved hero from big cow he revealed himself and that he was better then rest of classmates. for granted king/princess had eyes in that group and they discovered that some1 from summoned was hiding himself from king and that some1 was stronger that hero. for granted he needed to be disposed of.
3 not mc nor those knights expected that saran would be killed. sure he was annoyance for king but he had his uses too

5 after mc and his hiding was found out during labyrinth for granted king had raise number and skills diversity of bodyguards. so chance to kill him was missed after very first day

lmao...why didn't he stealth? imagine if he just waited until she's done playing with the crystal and she ended up showing him the entire collection? not a smart move writer-san lol it's one thing if she or the room have barriers to cancel the stealth but if not its just silly to show your damn face then and there.

He only got rid of the mind control crystal for the hero, why the not the others too?
Why did he show his face? To catch the princess of guard? Most stupid reason ever. He could just use his goddamn stealth and destroy the Crystal! It didn’t have to be when the princess was in the room right?
Even if she saw his face, he could just kill her.
