Considering there has been almost no romance other than the girls blushing and they appear to be stuck in sort of a perpetual state of adolesence were the seasons change but no one graduates, I doubt anything will happen.

In the data Chiaki is 5th in total vote and 7th in web vote and yet she’s 1st with 29k pts? In chpt 300 it says one can vote for their top 3 characters. The only explanation I can come up is that the “total” vote is counts the people that votes for a given character and not how many votes they give the character, and so those that voted for Chiaki must have tended to use all/most of their 3 votes on her, thus most votes for her counted for 2 or 3 points.

If true, this gives an insight into which character has more casual vs. hardcore fans. Must be a great feedback for the author. Or inversely the author/editor already knew of this trend and set the voting rules accordingly. Not sure on this, but interesting enough to ponder, I guess.

To my understanding these kind of series want to highlight the “girls” so to say. So the author would probably feel conflicted if Daisuke ranks highly as he’s more of a foil for all the girls. And he’d be happy when the three “main” characters + sensei who he focused a lot are the top 4.

Btw, his previous work was Ika Musume, the story was on a perpetual summer. The fact that this is a perpetually repeating 4 seasons is a step forward!
As for the ending, a quick look at Ika Musume will give you a good projection on how this series might eventually end.
That said, both series are entertaining regardless, so I’m happy to enjoy the ride.
