I love that little Melissa is happy for grown up Melissa and encourages her to be her own person and find happiness independent of a man and saying that she should teach anyone who tries to bully her a lesson. Other stories would have this be a point where the Fl has to fall in love with the trash former ml even after all the suffering he has put her though and the cheating. Love does not excuse the abuse and suffering of another person.
