Ya know, with how focused on her father Angie is, and with the dynamic they have, and with this being monthly, I can't help but think this whole "missing each other by a minute" thing is more damaging to the vibe and annoying than anything.
it was kinda funny at the begining but it has been going for way too long i'm even doubting they will ever see each other at this point

Isn't that just every anime ever?
Not really no. Many anime these days cover the light novels pretty closely. those are usually the ones that are good like overlord, saihate no paladin (with the exception of one fucking scene that frustrates me), as well as moon led journey in another world. The joy of them following light novels usually means we get more content than the manga can provide, especially if the manga were only limited releases to advertise the light novel and end awkwardly with a cliffhanger and a message to buy the light novel for more.

Why didn't she just refuse...? What's the point of being an S rank "monster" if some dipshit can just yank on your leash on a whim?

I hope Angie blows up in their face next chapter. That's the only possible satisfying end to this arc.
Ermmm... They just spent two whole chapters explaining why she can't really refuse.
And the way that second son acts proves that their worries were correct. He's not the type to take "No." for an answer.

That said... That little ball of excrement made a huge mistake in the way and wording he sent that missive.
He did it using his fathers' title, ordering her to come. As a "surprise", so his father is NOT aware of the use of his authority that way.... You... just don't... Very Bad Move 101..

I don't know how the father is cast, but a real Arch Duke (basically a King but in name...) would not take this use of his authority without his express knowledge by anyone kindly..
Especially when that authority is used to push around an individual who is part of a class of people who may be commoners, but commoners who can literally wipe out normal armies. Solo if necessary.
When you're in actual power, you very much don't piss off people like that. Just like you wouldn't piss off a neighbouring country just for Lulz or Convenience.

And son-dear has done just that, proving he does not have what it takes to have any form of authority. At all.
In both european and asian traditions of nobility, that son just signed his own death sentence if his father finds out what monumental stupidity his "dear son" just perpetrated. Even more so if asian, really...

We're actually caught up, chapter 40 came out in October and 39 came out in June.
My god, 4 months??? Sometimes, I see these kinds of schedules and it makes me wonder what the manga artist is doing in that time. Is this just a side job to them? Are schedules even a thing for them? That sort of thing.

I love manga but it has the second-most inconsistent release periods, behind only to webcomics.

When dealing with nobility, in doubt, do like the French.
@Grikath
In the LN was, IIRC, told that the son suggested Angeline name to the father who approved. Don't remember if it was told if the invitation was written by the son or the father. So at least the invitation using the Arch Duke authority (but maybe not the language used itself) was approved.

Funny how I felt a sudden sense of deja vu knowing I have clearly seen this before, only to then remember that the anime is like few chaps ahead of the manga and ended after the ceremony thingy.
I feel super glad that I didn't watch all of it hahaha
