So basically fighting her is almost like fighting the inmates during the inmate arc of Baki. But always lol Surprise she doesn’t have a weapon. If I were Fuwa, I’d just turn my back because he’s in a no win situation

after bitching about other weightclass is only sport not a fight, his complaints in this chapter doesn't have any weight tbh
That's the thing, he only believe in raw brute strength and doesn't take into account wit and smart for a fight to prove strongest person. I mean he throw away social life and textbooks/ education, it's easy to see he's one track minded with 0 education or street smart.

His idea of being the strongest comes from a TV's champion fight, where you can expect fights to be more balanced, have more rules, and not allow the fighters to use moves that violate the rules.
While female MC basically shows him the reality of his naive dream, to become the strongest, you have to fight any type of fighter, from master to trickster, and all wins are fair without rules. If he were aiming to be the strongest, he would have destroyed the girl already.

I'm honestly surprised by how much the author is making her struggle here. If someone of his caliber had her brutal fighting mentality...she'd probably have died in a few exchanges already. I guess it's nice that she's not some cartoonishy unbeatable killing machine. She's just a pinnacle high school girl.

not sure fully on that, he didn't complain about the eye poking and probably wouldn't do it by a nut cracker, his criteria is a fight 1v1, he thought she used the boy to cam him, if she grabs a weapon it would probably be unfair too

Fuwa already lost when he accepted this fight. He's carrying a lot of baggage and is fighting to prove a point, not to actually win. The fact that he could be so easily tricked means he isn't able to move outside the little box of "MMA Athlete" he'd crammed himself into, and there is no condition of victory possible for him in this fight. He could beat her but never win.

To be fair, she already aimed for his balls so her doing this is within the realms of unarmed fighting cheap and dirty.

I’m hoping he becomes a permanent fixture in the manga, and that he “beats” her this time at least. It would create an interesting dynamic not only between those two, but her and the MC as well. Maybe have the MC “step out of line” and ignore her in favor of trying to learn from him?

Bro is shaken, his whole worldview keeps being challenged by the sheer notion others don't care about the rules lol

Beating someone psychologically is violence after all, hurray!

This is just dumb lol. Might as well just bring a gun or knife into a fistfight at this point. Like, of course you can beat a Pro if you deploy all manner of dirty tactics. What next, threaten someone to lose or you kill their family?

Of course there's a pile of nerds in the comments who are faced with their eternal manga enemy: actually fucking reading the manga.

Her initial point is that all of this is "sports", his argument is that his weight class is the biggest so he's "serious".

All of this is just a belated way of making a point: he's still playing a sport because it's a ritual, there's rules he has to follow. She can bite his balls off or pull a knife and stab him in the kidney. She's not trying to show him she can win in an MMA match, she's showing that none of this is a real fight.

Or just shaken by a mentally ill teenager showing up at his workpace ranting about wanting to destroy his body and life by any means possible

Perhaps if you'd read the manga, you'd know that Fuwa actually says 'only heavyweight MMA is real martial arts'? And that he specifies he will be engaging in 'sparring for 5 minutes', to which she consents?

What he actually states is that "only in heavyweight are fighters truly battling to be the strongest", which is an even stupider argument, and that is assuming this is a 1:1 translation that lost none of its original meaning.

Good try though, you'd probably be getting flipped by a high school girl at this point.
