Charlotte is a bit too naive and stupid, isn't she. What makes her thinks that she can help while the knights that have the same attribute with her and definitely stronger than her can't do anything to the lizard.

Charlotte hasn't openly admitted that she sucks and has major problems with her magic control. That's the foremost reason why it would be a bad call to give her any sort of role when it really matters. You can't fix your problems if you are unable to admit you have problems. A few times she has even lamented how Slow doesn't allow her to carry a magic wand, even though she has a history of hitting her own allies or passersby.
