Using your own body is only necessary as a last resort when the enemy is attacking from a distance. Of course it might end up as using your own body as a shield even if that wasn't your intention, if the enemy is truly overpowering, but I don't reckon that was the case here.

The academy seems to be holding up for now, but I guess if they were too strong there'd be nothing but maybe the dragon for Slow and Silver to fight. The kobold attack could be because the enemy boss ordered the monsters to attack after figuring out Rokomoko was simply buying time fighting him. 6 chapters left, I hope there's at least a satisfying wrap-up to this.

I think the reason why it got axed was because Slow's character completely merged with the isekai protagonist aspect, where its pretty much about Slow having a change of heart rather than the person who possesses him. Arguably this would be a better story, and would fit into a fantasy setting neatly, but I guess the writer got caught trying to pull a sneaky one on the publisher so they decided to axe it. That said the opportunity for a fat guy to get isekai'd only to find out hes still fat but in a fantasy world would be funny.

IMO, it was dropped because Slowe had already confessed to Charlotte and that takes away people's interest who gets into this series originally because of its romance.

He confessed to Charlotte in Volume 7 and got accepted. From there and onwards, Charlotte became the main and only Heroine.

With so few chapters remaining, I'm guessing the story will have an open-ended conclusion, but I'll just have to finish it and see.
