The villain's (aka classmates) in this are COMICALLY EVIL. It's like someone (the author) goes out of his way to keep making them more evil. I don't think making them MORE evil is making the story better ... not that it was good to begin with, LOL. Also, the ML will probably not directly take revenge again as usual. The plot armor turd is about to drop ... wait for it I guess.

I have a couple chapters in prep and new villains are just as ridiculous. At this point it has to be a satire of the genre with just how over the top all of his classmates are.

In his defense, even if they did not join him they will either still be killed or terrorized by the heroes. So it’s a lose lose situation. At least by joining him they can kill them even if they will still die in the end.

I can give 1 benefit for the Evil classmates. They have some nice uses with their ability. Combining flamable materials then use wind to controll the flames are neat. Others do similar things. To be honest i have no idea how will they kill him. You cant realy suprise atack that guy. And he will not come close enugh to let his gem taken.

You know what would be a great twist for that story?
If it turn out the "Pig" is the bad guy.
And all we saw just his view point and the only reason we saw them evil because the demon lord corrupted / possesed him, and both his past and events are fake. Just look the vilagers when he ask who need to die or when the dwarf and the gasoil girl kill the heroes.
It would be sick if his ability just mass mind controll without knowing it and the heroes are the good guys.

For example we saw this guy using poison but in reality it just sleeping gas and nobody died they just saw that way.
And all the thrashtalk in reality is how they try to convice the Protag to stop this killing, but he and his allys only saw that illusion about him thrashtalking.
Hell we dont see the dwarf save their family it just happen. Imagine if they just get sheltered from this madness and the dwarf just slaughter everybody.
It would go well for a typical Demon lord ability who can controll any nonhuman.

I know mines have vents and shafts for access to air but no way are the vents and shafts gonna take in the air faster than the literal opening where the poison is being spread. How tf are they running around where all the poisoned air is without insta dying HUH. im not expecting a good story but at least obey the laws of physics

It's always interesting to watch magic be used on items or situations like that.

Well designed mine has air ducts, they can be built so air is sucked through and go deeper with a breeze because carbon dioxide is heavier, that's why gas might have reach lower levels and not the top.
