I'm not even mad at the villains in these types of stories anymore. because this SAME EXACT SCENARIO has been overplayed by so many other stories where the mc is a part of a hero party and is kicked off for being "useless" but they're somehow saved and are able to escape and exact their revenge. These types of stories have gotten my so disconnected from their world that I just look at the author with dissapointment. People who want some examples would be

"The Sword of Princess Gluttony", "Welcome to Cheap Restaurant of Outcast!", "My Twin Sister Was Taken as a Miko and I Was Thrown Away but I'm Probably the Miko", "False Hero Has No Place in This World", "Adventurers Who Don't Believe in Humanity Will Save the World", "The Sole Monster Tamer in the World, ~I was Mistaken as the Demon King When I Changed My Job~", "The Hero Who Seeks Revenge Shall Exterminate With Darkness", "Nankoufuraku no Maoujou e Youkoso", "The King of Cave Will Live a Paradise Life", "The Labyrinth Raids of the Ultimate Tank ~The Tank Possessing a Rare 9,999 Endurance Skill was Expelled from the Hero Party~", "Chillin Different World Life Of The EX-Brave Candidate Was Cheat From Lv2", "Nidome no Yuusha", " I Was Kicked out of the Hero’s Party Because I Wasn’t a True Companion so I Decided to Have a Slow Life at the Frontier".

Note that some of these stories are pretty fucking good and im not saying that all of these are bad stories. but I'm just using them as examples on how ALL of these stories start off with the MC being betrayed by the ones they trust with the main villains being so shitty created with them being the bland "bad man betray hero becuz bad man is bad man".

I know for a fact that I'm missing a TON of other stories and just forgot about them, like the one where the mc is a wizard who's kicked out of his party because his fire spell didn't kill a giant tree ent but in reality the tree ent was just weak to electricity and he somehow gets a cheat tome from out of nowhere which tells him stats of everything. Or the other one has the mc get kicked from his classmates into a rivene and somehow lives and uses the "absorb skill" on a dead dinosaur and basically becomes as strong as god at that point. I'm just saying that the fact that I can list all of those other stories with the exact same start says something about the creativity of a lot of authors.

@Hoomanadaw The only thing i don't like about this plot setup is how often it slips into super grim dark edgy torture porn bs. If not for that this setup is basically the same as truck-kun in isekai. Its just a means to an end to start the story as quick as possible and I basically don't pay too much attention to it anymore unless it really starts to borrow heavily from another story.

@Hoomanadaw Yeah, I agree with you. In most of these stories, it's always the same trope of either MC is considered weak and is exiled (parties or nation) or get rid off (killed or failed murder) and the people who did that are showed as evil or something along those lines that we don't even get surprised anymore, but honestly, they're like that because it's cliché and clichés are one of the safest routes to go, if it ain't broken don't fix it idea, it's kinda like horror movies it either begins because a family moves into a house that they know it's haunted, or a bunch of stupid teenagers decides to go somewhere and do dumb stuff, or they decide to do something that has strict rules to follow and they go and break the rules, or there's just some monster out there who wants to kill people. It's what it's, would be nice to have some new idea for how to do these fantasy/Isekai mangas? Yes. But then that new idea if too successful it becomes the new cliché that will be milked dry by every other author, kinda like fantasy/Isekai nowadays (with some exceptions that managed to subvert common tropes and went to other directions), and maybe more recent wholesome romance short stories (though not too sure about this one)

P.S: I don't want to make this a super long discussion, it's just what I thought after reading your comment

man even though this trope is being done into the ground i can't seem to hate it :p
edit: but thats prob because one would only read a manga like this because they are waiting for their main one to update

"Thanks to you, we've become stronger and don't die anymore, so you're useless, we don't need you anymore, go die please" - dude what?
" We acknowledge that your power is very strong, and it is very useful for us, but because there's a chance you will use them to revive the demon, so we'll kill you" - another wtf?
What kind of mental gymnastics do those people playing to have such conclusion like that? Seriously...

Man, you took the words right out of my mouth.

I didn't think they were going to kill him but rather turn him to a slave for their leaders and instead everything went toward a stupid direction.

Not as stupid as it might seem, they are dumb to not make sure he's dead though, or try to get him to join the church/king's faction.

From a power struggle mindset, the church and king would want him dead, you essentially have a messiah like figure who can revive anyone who didn't die from natural causes (if he can revive even from that, then he's basically a living god), this would put all of the church and king's power into question, and the mc could and probably would unite most of the people behind him if it challenged their power.
They also couldn't imprison him or make him a slave, if his power's that strong than he could literally revive random people just by being there, which would direct eyes towards the source.
Their best option would have been trying to essentially make him a loyal follower of the king or church, but they didn't even try to.

The 'hero's" party's actions however, make almost no sense, he was basically carrying them and even if they didn't need him anymore, what better power to have on your side in case shit happens than a literal deus ex machina, we have nukes that we'll hopefully never use, but it would REALLY suck to not have them to fall back on if things went really bad.

While i agree that most of those have typical betrayals, i have to correct you on a couple of them, specifically slow life on the frontier wasn't a betrayal by those he trusted (the mage and him really don't like each other more or less, but the rest of the party trusted him and when he left it caused a rift to form in the party to the point that most of the party left), the mage as bad as he is also isn't a villain "for the evilz" and did do what he did for logical though selfish reasons, albeit ones that bite him in the ass.
The miko one i wouldn't even really call a betrayal, the mc was always treated badly and though her family are villains, it's probably one of the more realistic villain scenarios (many of us have seen parents who neglect some of their children out of favoritism, even to the point of abuse, sadly this isn't a trope but a real life problem), which is depressing.
Overall though the rest fits, and tbh it does make sense in alot of these stories to have villain "for the evilz" if your trying to make the reader simpathize with the MC, because morally grey characters have a tendency to get people to side with them (thanos from avengers is a example of how giving a villain a morally questionable but not 100% evil for evil's sake goal can be a huge risk, as there are still people who think thanos was right).

@Tatsuya-Kai thing is, thanos wasn't right, his snap also wiped out half of all resources in the universe as well, since it wiped out vegetation and animals

@Tatsuya-Kai There are arguments that could be made for the king and church to kill the MC preemptively, in case he ever turns against them, as opposed to co-opt him into the establishment (marriage into the royal family, maybe the skill is hereditary or make him the pope or something "Our pope can raise the dead! What can yours do?"). But they way the executed him is beyond mere stupidity.
Why announce the whole thing and do the payoff with the betrayer party right in front of the MC? Are they deliberately trying to raise his grudge level right before they kill him?! Why not just assassinate him in his sleep?
In a better thought out setting, this whole thing would be the plan of some evil government minister, who's actually a secret demon worshiper, for the express purpose of pissing off the MC into resurrecting the demon lord or something. It would probably still be stupid but it might be a better flavor of stupid.
