That said, thanks for the transparency, and I'm gonna be glad to support you in this way.

Also, the only problem I've ever had with ads are those NSFW/horrifying ones you see on kiss websites. Otherwise, I wouldn't really mind ads except between pages because it really hurts the immersion.

I love my isekai trash tho, all those villainesses including my one true love, Melissa Podebrat.

haven't really been following the situation very closely, but as someone who has donated resources with H@H for about 7 years now, i looked to set up MD@H to help you guys but there were just too many cumbersome bureaucratic steps involved, it should be as quick as clicking a button to generate a server key and downloading the java applet (or whatever you're using for us to run the service).

for instance, i was going to show you how your page is right now but i can't even find it! can't even find the donation page with your crypto wallet ID! this stuff should be easy to find if you want people to help, rather than scouring google/forums.

Maybe having an "ad week" once every year or every six months may help with the revenue, and replacing them with ads for "featured manga" like the April fools prank for the rest of the year, it was quite handy for finding manga I haven't read yet.

As for webp and ios
1. You probably could read out the user agent automatically, to switch between traditional jpg and webp
2. + A setting to set it manually, as bromite for example, ads things to the user agent, which is weird...
3. I know... It's too much work and at the moment probably not worth it.

There's no site as good as Mangadex. Ads or not, ppl should just accept it since site like this is so damn rare.

You should make it dead simple to donate.

Right now the the only thing I see is a link hidden behind a drop down menu only visible to logged-in users, labeled "support" (which makes you think of "tech support" rather than donating). This is not fine.

Also the bitcoin info is at the bottom of the page making users users scroll down ("below the fold" for important things is a big UI no-no) instead of being the focus of attention.

Embed a Youtube tutorial and below it add text instructions with screenshots.

This is a numbers game, each extra step or point of confusion you force onto users reduces your conversion rate.

Make the banners increasingly visible until you hit the required targets -> take a page from wikipedia's playbook.

If you think that's obnoxious, what's more obnoxious is the site ultimately shutting down from lack of funds.

The various stages in between aren't pretty either: performance suffering due undersized hardware or insufficient dev time because of a lack of paid developers.

Don't let things get to the point of having to put in real ads, the ad networks willing to work with piracy gray area sites are really shady.

You should put in as much effort soliciting donations as the day-to-day running of the site.

info tab doesn't have anything regarding it. maybe in about section but that's empty as well.
this should be plainfully easy to find. easily searchable place with crypto wallet ID, and another easily searchable place with a button to click to generate a MD@H server key and applet download link.

Im not sure how your infraestructure is set up, but perhaps you could use docker and kubernetes to manage and facilitate scaling. That should also give the opportunity to isolate isekai and solo leveling from the rest of the content (without it being noticeable on the site). It can be set up so that if solo leveling or isekai gets saturated it won't affect the user experience for other genres or mangas.
It might also help when you need to change servers (to reduce downtime) and to get the site back up when it decides to crash far quicker and probably easier.

As for the adds I dont mind them as long as they are not intrusive. I trust you guys enough to click on a few each day.
