You need to reread, she was the one keeping him alive. We even knew he was alive. It was when he had told Allen to come to this mansion.

This "Allen" isn't the same "Allen" we followed since the start... but it is still our Allen.

I don't have the diction to explain... but... just because he has the memories of lives lived from people that are and aren't him, doesn't mean he stops being himself.

The past Lavi and the original Allen... they are gone... memories inside the great flow of human conscience, and our Allen has inherited it.

Considering Road is there... and the clear magical circle right below Cross... this is "him", but a "memory" of him that Road has taken from the "dream", considering the "weight" of this memory, the damage she suffered by Apocryphos, she must have had to stay with him to keep him manifested.

Did this chapter just reveal that Cross is the brother of Catherine Campbell... which would make him the uncle of Nea and Mana?

I'm still convinced that Innocence is a parasitic force from space and The Noah weren't outright evil originally but rather the only survivors of the apocalypse which Noah caused creating Black Matter to destroy The Heart. Black Matter potentially distorted and corrupted Noah and the others as well.
