Makes sense to release the chapters as published imo, rather than stitching them together on Mangadex. Reminder that scan groups aren't the ones splitting chapters when they show up on MD like this, it's how the manga was originally released. If you find a scan group splitting chapters on their own, you can report it because that's against the site rules.

Also, excluding the credits images, this chapter is 17 pages long. Even if it's called 14.1, that's the same length as a normal "full" weekly chapter you would find in a magazine like shonen jump. There are absolutely manga out there where "part" chapters are super short and aren't worth reading one by one. But for those series I just... don't read them until the whole chapter's out. I don't know why that's particularly hard, or apparently controversial to some.

Why split the chapters if they are released so close together?

I guess they couldn't get all of the raws at the same time? You have to pay individually for the latest chapters on the official raw page.

Alex was pretty much a small fry among humans, because "hero" is just a class and the Holy Church has hundreds of them.

Liliana on the other hand was one of the most powerful elves and the youngest daughter of the High Elf Queen.

She wasn't even supposed to be on that suicide attack on the Demon King's castle; she snuck on board because of Alex. Her disappearance actually caused some friction in the Panhuman alliance.
