I’m sorry no matter your reasons, if you do this to anyone you’re the bad guys. I just can’t comprehend any reason for why you would treat someone like this even if they are your enemy. This is just eternal pain and torment without forseeable end, it’s needlessly cruel.

The dark elves is educated that way since they have bad history with day elves. They now biologically abhor them and think this is normal.

2. Her holy magic vaporizes demons
3. Shes functionally immortal and can just escape if they dont keep cutting her down
4. This elf clan hates her elf clan
5. Did you really expect decent people to run the torture dungeon prison?
6. Theres probably some prophecy shit going on that makes a new saint appear if they manage to kill her

You're wasting your time, tbh. This manga is bound to get a bunch of emotional normie responses (then filter them right out after they drop it). I doubt they care if it makes sense or the reasoning behind it.

I'll give the manga credit for actually showing us how gruesome Liliana's 7 years of captivity were; even the original author had doubts whether it could be adapted.

Though as usual this skips a lot of detail and nuance compared to the novel version of this chapter.

Like explaining the night elves' cruel and sadistic disposition(which is a big part of why they get along well with the demons) and their visceral hatred for the forest elves who exiled them from their old homeland.

Or about Liliana's "divinity" as a saintess which is behind her seemingly infinite regenerative power. Which they're after, BTW. It's why she's still alive.

This is the dark elves entire culture. Everyone else is "prey" to them, save the demons because the demons are that much stronger.

The novel has many such moments that subvert the usual tropes in this kind of series(I.e. "the demons were framed/ misunderstood by humans") and show the MC why coexistence with the dark clan races may be impossible after all.

In the novel there's no mention of sexual assault and the author thankfully clarifies that Liliana wasn't subject to that at least because the night elves see forest elves as animals and therefore would consider having sex with one as bestiality.

This is horrifying torture especially since it seems she is dead but the torture starting by raping her is horrifying!

I am betting our prince needs to continue or participate for taboo. That or completely break her into his personal slave/toy
