Agawa really broke Gotou, who started have the belief of sex with someone you have feelings for, that the act should be meaningful than treating it as a simply activity like playing a video game like Agawa is doing. Now he's just down to having sex, not thinking about the teacher's childhood promise, the commitment of marriage. I mean, he's already sex addled a while ago but still. He doesn't have any good influence, Kume did help out and cure MC's ED, but actually I don't think it'll help him out because now he's just back to more sex. Agawa has unintentionally corrupted Gotou, breaking was little system of moral he had.
Also, as always, even when MC has parents, they don't seem to do any parenting when they are very much needed. Where's the dad to impart to manly wisdom to his son? Mother is about to find out at least (did his parents never found out their son's bad grades?) but I don't know if it'll lead to proper intervention in Gotou's life, and it's just more pulling him down into more sex life (as it's the direction of the manga).
Akito could have been a positive force to MC if she managed to pull him back into baseball, but alas, it's Gotou who pulled her into debauchery. Well at least that got fixed when Akito had her friends back it seems, but it also shows beyond sex, they don't really connect (baseball is all but forgotten for now). Maybe it's a set up for Akito to move on from her childhood crush. Author will probably make a NTR scene, showing Akito fall in love with another dude, maybe that Kawata guy or whatever name that sparked conflict between Akito and her friends. I don't think this manga will go to a harem route so every girl will eventually move on, and the final girl is obviously Agawa, unless author choose the loner route, it can make sense as Gotou choosing to involve himself led to his destruction, so getting away from her and rebuilding himself is a legit end. Though unlikely for a crack manga like this, I think he'll get the girl anyway.
I like the scenes of Gotou talking to his friends, early on Gotou got to talk about his troubles, but lately it's played for laugh mostly, to show Gotou's messed up state of the day. I wish his friends have more presence (chapter 89 was nice for that), especially the afro dude, I forgot his name, he's been somewhat a rock to MC.
I've binge read the manga, so I'm using this chapter thread to write down some thought, well mainly chapters 74 75. I don't know how to feel about this one. I kind understand what Agawa is trying to say, the personality Gotou is projecting is fake, it isn't him. He can talk to girls, he even get to fuck multiple girls, he figured he's now those douchebag fuckboi so he has to act like it, the confident I'm going to fuck today, to show he did it, he improved from the awkward and shy loser. He doesn't actually feel confident, it's just the situation where he can get sex from these people he knows (he wouldn't be able to pull with girls he doesn't know). There's also the end of CH70 and start of CH71, Gotou's expression changed from serious to this smug. Agawa is pointing out this fake side of himThis is fine, but I have issues with her.
The first is Agawa basically destroying Gotou for no good reason. Agawa pointed out he lacked skills, he got better and showed it, she even look to like it before Gotou reveal he learned from Inukai. Gotou specifically learned how to please a woman, but still Agawa warned him not to trust the guy, as she knows he's a scumbag. Doing so though, it's like she's dismissing his efforts of improving himself for her. He brought her half sister, she praised him (he did get 100 on his extra lesson tests, and she seems to enjoy sex with him), but again Agawa fired that down. Akito is interesting, Agawa pointed out Gotou didn't even notice how unhappy she was, even though she doesn't really know her she still saw (CH71) through her. But it is also the case for her, she failed to notice how her words have affected Gotou (both before when she criticized his sexual skills, and now). I don't know if the author intended, but Agawa avoided looking at Goto once she apologized. And what an apology, "sorry, teehee" and swept everything under the rug. She placed importance in communication, but here it seems she just run away, she didn't want to discuss the situation she created.
The second is this Agawa running away from Gotou. Before this went on, we had Agawa trying to defend Gotou against Kume. Obviously she has some feelings for Gotou, she cares for him, that's why she also pointed out how fake he was behaving. This is Agawa who doesn't mind having sex with scumbag like Inukai, so it was important for her to note. But afterwards, after being disillusioned with guys for awhile, she just pay zero attention to someone she supposed to care, a friend I would think, and simply switch to going after girls (well that one les friend). She could be dealing with her own feelings no doubt, she still basically abandoned Gotou, as it doesn't look like they talked since then. She's not an all knowing character who knows the right thing to do or say, but she's not even trying here, and just indulge in sex like she always had. I guess she simply has shallow relation to people around her, what can I say at this point. Very self centered, but fine to me, at least let Gotou be on a healthy path of building himself up, not this new character that came out of nowhere similarly like Akito and get Gotou back into self destroying debauchery.
