@Kanol - well, of course she has to fear for her life. Any of Satou's lolis can take her out, she's just a level 13 nobody. Arisa can probably do it without anybody noticing, too.

@Arx724 - swords usually can't hit Satou, but if it hits, it's more likely to bend or break than to actually hurt him. I wonder if he will get "sword resistance" skill from that.

@magnetsmangadex - MC's name is Satou Pendragon. Satori is a different person, from a different manga

@SunSun - Sera is just a noble's daughter, not a king's daughter. Moreover, she has lost her formal privileges by becoming full-time priestess. Finally, that girl is a temple knight, not a secular knight, so she does not have to enforce social order.

@AFresherPerspective yeah, cause morals and ethics as a whole have progressed to where most societies understand that it's cruel to do that to children. But shit like this happened often enough throughout history.

@Kanol from the perspective of a near medieval to pre renaissance knight, it doesn't matter if they showed her directly or not. The master or mistress' dignity was threatened, on top of a person with unknown heritage was now not only touching her but grasping his arm around her waist, an amount of intimacy reserved for husbands and their wives.

@flannan Ducal houses tended to have blood ties with the royal family of their nation. The ducal rank is high enough that other than rewarding a house for generations of serving the royal family and piling achievements after achievements, it was bestowed upon non-direct successors to the royal family, such as brothers or cousins. Setting that aside however, lese majeste can still be applied to nobility in general, with justifications varying in real life depending on the nation.

And even if she did lose noble priveleges, she is an "oracle priestess", important enough to the temple that her escort is not only eight knights but 300 soldiers, a small army. Hell last chapter Satou mentioned that it's entirely possible for those soldiers to siege the Munro capital and take it. Her status was important enough that it required the Head Priestess or Holy Woman (Saintess could be another translation) to approve of her going to the Munro barony, along with the extra priests and army as an escort.

Finally while that girl is a temple knight, part of the reason why the Tenion temple sent the oracle in the first place was to help restore public order (previous chapter), which by extension include social order. Edit: And I missed this the first time around but the Temple Knights aren't strictly limited to protecting only the temple, Sera refers to the previous senior ones as being Imperial Knights who protect the Duke, along with being Temple Knights who protect the temple.

@SunSun I feel like it's as strange in the first place to try to base our understanding of fictional alternate world people on how people in X historical period behaved as to use the present. Yes, the author may be using that as a model, but someone could just as easily take deadly offense over someone not spinning counter-clockwise after blinking in their presence or something. Either way, it's not really moral justification. Appeal to the past/tradition is the same logical fallacy as appeal to nature. Also in context it seems weird to escalate to violence that quickly unless you know the person of position you're escorting is cool with you cutting down kids for minor perceived sleights. Someone who's expressed a lot of interest in the welfare of orphans recent is probably not cool with it.
