I think desperate pining is a kind of romance, idk if I would call it "light" as sometimes that longing can feel way heavier and more evocative than other more traditional romance stories. It is pretty annoying that so many series stop once the couple gets together though. Like... they spend so much time on step one that they forget that there's a whole ass relationship to go through.

It has it's premise and stuck to it for dear fucking life. Nothing happens. Groundhog day. Doesn't exude a lot of confidence from the author. Of course it ends when they get together, if not they'd have to write a real romance without the starting premise and it seems they weren't prepared for that. It won't just be the last chapter they get together, it'll be the very last page too!

The author did not know how to write the plot after the confession and the pair becomes a couple. It’s easier for many authors/mangakas to write the chase in the romance genre but difficult to write beyond that..

Confession > End. Drat. Even if just a chapter or two, I feel like we should always get to see some couple time at the end of a romance. I loved this series at the start but feel the ferris wheel should have been the confession and then the awkward figuring out of the new dynamic ending in a solid, loving relationship.

What was this entire series even for if Minami was going to be the one to confess? She's literally tried to do this multiple times since volume one, and the only difference this time, is she's slightly more self assured and she isn't going to get randomly interrupted. If Yuzu could have confessed, I feel like it might have been a decent conclusion but this just feels pointless. What was this series even about???
