So Soyo framed Lally as a molester because she hates aliens, leading to Lally getting bullied and then potentially dying/committing suicide. Because he does seem like a good kid who was apparently bullied before, bad enough to move to another planet, and who's already sensitive to the special treatment aliens are getting.

So then Lily took revenge(?) by killing Soyo. This would technically make his story check out, in a roundabout way where Lally's death made Lily into a murderer. Bit clichéd, but it'd work.

Unless they pull the switcharoo, and this Lily is actually Lally after his growth spurt, and the real Lily died due to Soyo somehow, so Lally assumed his identity (anyone remember Switch's backstory from Sket Dance? Basically that, but with murder).

This character's problem seems like a minor one in the larger story of aliens getting special rights and privileges over humans. Don't be distracted by a minor battle in the greater war.

Duuude, that diabolical panel of Katami's sister laughing was incredible.

Honestly, I have zero sympathy for Lally. I get that he's technically a victim, but his "awareness" falls short. He questioned the special treatment and the trouble they caused, yet he still happily accepted the license and the car—and even had the nerve to ask Soyo out. That's just greedy.
One could argue his behavior is molded by a more global context, well, so is Soyo's resentment. So his passive miniscule reflection of guilt isn't a redeeming factor for me.

Soyo, on the other hand, is cool as fuck. I love this reveal. It’s not just that she hates aliens; it’s that unlike Lally she's driven, decisive and actually takes action. And yeah, she's both ruthless and diabolical.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how the art has come a long way? I'm loving it

Oh hey, I figured out who's in the bag. Soyo's lesbian friend. That's how Lilly knows what was said when only Soyo and her were present.

I have given up on trying to find a historical metaphor and decided that the reason the author created a world with semi-justified racism was to have a backdrop for terrible people to mess with each other.

Sickly, underdeveloped, nerdy alien is led into a classroom filled with kids pent up with resentment, in a school where everyone is convinced he's done something reprehensible.
This poor kid is definitely not leaving the building alive, which is unfortunate because he's the only character in this story that doesn't deserve it

This manga really makes you think... About how if this situation ever happens in real world how it would never get to these levels.

Even if some aliens saved us first the governments would be very cautious becasue they want to avoid loosing power to some foreigners (US government accepting that something is above them in terms of power? Yeah right...) and secondly the populations themselves would have pretty strong feelings about non-humans suddenly starting to live among them and getting special status.

Simply put, we would see riots and massive hunts long before it came to the point where they are so privileged that a kid can get a license or drive a car.

I feel like maybe this is something inherent to Japanese culture specifically. We all have "gratefulness" but there's a kind of obligation added on to it.

Doesn't make it any less believable, I'm sure the Japanese and the Japanese government aren't about to hand over their society on a silver platter, but maybe it's that much smaller a leap for the story's purpose. Something a lot of people, and specifically Japanese, can relate to on a smaller scale.

It's interesting to think about, all the same.

YOOO HOLY SHIT I JUST REALIZED HER FRIEND IS THE IDOL CHICK BEFORE DYING HER HAIR SO SHES GONNA BE IN THE BAG. She even has a line about how she used to hate aliens too

the only thing not closing perfectly is that Lilly has 1 mole under the eye and Lally has 2. The only thing I can think of which would be very silly is make up which he removes for the reveal
